Anyone else addicted to them in the same manner as Xbox Achievements and such?

Not especially, but then I have a fair few, so I would say that. They're just an amusing little extra, rather than the 360 game destroying "must get the g's" thing.

I only get sad when I realise there was an event I missed, like the first round of the voting in March Mayhem.

But there's a bunch of badges we can't get - like how we all got a random one at Christmas last year - though I got the Duke Nukem badge, so I ain't complaining.

I joined only a week after the Webby badge was handed out, which sucks for me since I voted for us as well but didn't get it. I'm kinda pissed about that. But my collection is getting big; I have 31 badges (including a few expired ones) and I have yet to participate in the genre wars.

Anywho, I use to care with the Genre wars and I use to die slowly inside if I missed a competition, but now I'm okay. There are a few badges I want simply because they look cool.

Note: Anyone notice the chicken badge looks like penis?

If the badge gets in my way, I will eat out it's heart and crap out it's image.
and If it's a good one I may put it in the top 4
I only go for them if they get in my way... not the same as achievements...

I rarely get any, unless a New one is made for a feature. I already have most of the basic ones, except the extremes

I'm quite looking forward to getting my "Regular" badge, just a post in Oct and I'll have it. Normally I don't particularly care and certainly never really try to get badges but I've always had a soft spot for the "Regular" badge, that's why, even whilst in India, and even before that when I did have a solid internet connection and I still wasn't posting very often, I made sure I still posted every month.

I think when I leave India and start my five or so months in Australia I may start posting more often again, we'll have to wait and see.

Yeah I went over there to have a look and it's like: soz. closed.
Okay maybe not in those words, but it is not up to do anymore apparently. I really wanted that badge. And to prove my love of ZP.
