Is it okay to bring back to life a topic which is approx. 10th down the list? I realize that people might not like old topics being puked back up again, but then people are admonished for repeating a topic.

Yes, of course. That's not even necromancing the thread, to be honest; it's just posting normally. Assuming you don't mean "if it's on the 10th page", anyway.

It's generally fine to necro a thread no matter how old it is, unless it's been dead for absolutely ages and you have nothing of value to say in it.

This is a gray subject here, some people are adamant about bringing up old ones, others really despise repeat topics. I personally like thread necromancy, because you can see old opinions and I have read some really funny stuff in old fora, which I would otherwise have missed.

It's been discussed before, but thread necroing is still preferable to starting a new thread, to an extent.

I think it just depends on how old the topic is. For example, if the topic was last posted in yesterday then go for it. However, if the last post was 9 months ago and noone remembers it then I would say don't revive it. If you must though, what I used to do is start a new topic and post a link or quote the old one and people didn't seem to mind.
