Lord Business was just the representation of a child's father. (Father obviously some kind of business man) and as far as I remember there was no environmental, anti-capitalist, or any other message in the film other than Pro-creativity, you know outside the box kinda thing. Oh and Mr. Rodgers message that everyone is special.
Freaken loved that movie though. So many fuzzy memories. Also shut up Fox.
You do it like this. [ spoiler ] [ /spoiler ]

Without the spaces between the [s and words, of course.
Thanks

And this is why, when you're talking about american politics with various political science students, sociologists, etc, in universities around Europe, we really just smile and shrug and move on.

Because "Corrupt Corporate Executive" isn't a stereotype so hackneyed it's become cliche >.>

So that's what they choose to report on? Good. To me that means that they are actually afraid of people not accepting the idea of Capitalism Above All.

After all, isn't it time that mankind undid at least some of the damage that capitalism-fueled greed has done to this world and the people who inhabit it?

Coming soon to a Fox Network Report near you: EXPOSED! The machinations and propaganda of terrorist mastermind behind the recent anti-capitalist propaganda in Hollywood, Emmanuel Goldstein.

You know, your points about The LEGO Movie actually makes me even more interested about it.

So, good work promoting the movie, FOX...

And I suppose every form of entertainment that features an evil corporation is anti-capitalist. Things like Aliens, Resident Evil, and Superman.
Oh oh oh!!! And the Robocop movies! I'm certain Fox has already pointed out that the Robocops are representative of the government's oppression of small businesses, yes? ;)

I'm certainly going to go see this LEGO movie. Since anti-business Hollywood isn't interested in making money off of it, it's technically more of a LEGO public service announcement, right?
Oh yeah! Robocop. How could I forget about Robocop?!

But Fox NEVER gets their facts wrong!

Yeah, the Lego Movie was actually anti-hollywood if anything, the whole film was a celebration of geek culture and a brutal parody of hollywood cliches.

And really, the Robocop remake? It's not anti-capitalist, it's anti-drone and surveillance. It's clearly a response to the surveillance state issues, like the NSA. You'd think Fox would jump on it as being "anti-obama" or some nonsense.

Uggggghhh, the overwhelming stupid that comes from Fox 'News' is enough to make my head crush itself.

Exactly. It's pretty clear that these mouth breathers didn't even see the movie, nor bothered to notice the numerous LEGO Movie merchandise that's been pumped out to capitalize on the film before they started to spew forth their explosive verbal diarrhea. (how they've flourished in NYC, I'll never know)

Okay, I was indifferent about this film, but it's enough to get Fox's panties in a bunch...
Besides, I don't know the plot, but the mere idea that they are making a 90 minute advert for Lego is as Capitalist as it comes.

This clip is less funny than that old cranky white man (I can't be more specific, even though that's 90% of Fox news anchors) complained about The Givers creating a generation of, and I quote, "Occu-todlers"

Well now I HAVE to go see this movie.

Although if this is how they react to a cartoonishly evil CEO in a kids movie, can't wait to see them react to Lex Luthor. "Is Zack Snyder trying to make ruthless businessmen who think their hard work excuses them from basic morality look like the BAD GUYS???!!!"

The entire movie is basically an ad for the Lego corporation made by a big Hollywood movie studio (read a large media corporation). Fox is just retarded and pandering to the old white audience.

If these idiots had actually watched the movie instead of basing their attack off of one clip(which I'm sure is all they did, it is Fox 'News' after all)they would know the actual meaning behind the character.

Sigh... I am sure the LEGO movie is entertaining. I will probably watch it at some point, but to claim that what they are suggesting is somehow ridiculous, well, that is just part for the course on these boards.

The populace is manipulated on a daily basis by media outlets and mainstream entertainment. All the while profiting from your angst, and practicing the very things you are being told to abhor. FOX News is no different than MSNBC, CNN, or any other mainstream outlet. They have an agenda, and agree or disagree, it is no crazier than anything the more liberal news sources are printing.

The fact that you don't see any validity in the report shows just how much you are being manipulated. No, I do not have a tin foil hat, but I am keenly aware of the advertising and themes presented to me 24/7. All I can say, think for yourselves. Vilifying the wealthy is nothing new, and it is not likely to change anytime soon, but let's not pretend that pushing these themes in children's entertainment is without influence or impact.

I am curious about this as well, I watched Bob's review and wondered what the twists were.

Spoilers of the commentary in the movie are inbound!

THE WHOLE FUCKING POINT OF THE MOVIE IS THAT CREATIVITY AND ORGANIZATION CAN LIVE HAPPILY IN HARMONY. HOW THE FUCK IS THAT ANTI-CAPITALIST?! IT'S SAYING THAT THINGS LIKE PRESIDENT BUSINESS ARE HAVE GOOD IN THEM AND THAT WE CAN ALL LIVE TOGETHER WITHOUT PROBLEMS ASSUMING A GIVE AND TAKE IS EQUALLY BALANCED! CREATIVITY IS POINTLESS WITHOUT DIRECTION AND DIRECTION IS POINTLESS WITHOUT CREATIVITY!

I'm almost 100% confident these fucking morons didn't even see the film... OR they completely failed to understand the deeper meaning of the film after Act 3.
