When it comes to health care no News network is reliable- You have to realize many of the commercial slots on these shows are filled by insurance companies.

[The "liberal media"] love to be denounced from the right, and the right loves to denounce them, because that makes them look like courageous defenders of freedom and independence while, in fact, they are imposing all of the presuppositions of the propaganda system. -noam chomsky

fox news is bs and Rush Limbaugh is an angry monkey who was taught english.

Fox is good entertainment. Don't watch it as a news station, though. I'm almost offended at the idea that they're "fair and balanced".

See, this is why I don't like shows like O'Reilly and such. I have reached the point where I can't even imagine a mainstream news show allowing an actual civil and reasoned discussion such as this. There's got to be at least one racial slur or unshakable extremist to sell news.

Sadly, the selling of news, is probably why the news we get is strained through so many warping and twisting re-writes. Sadly the truth, which is usually rather mundane and somewhere in the middle doesn't sell and leaves people feeling unsatisfied. People want to feel right!

Whether it is in that they made the right choice in their vote and the president is the second coming of Christ, or that he is out to destroy America because of his secret Muslim ties, people want something big!

Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc. give them that big thing to focus on.

I like C-Span, although it's sort of like listening to a charles dickens book on tape. Informative but good god is it dull.

Mansur, we need more reasonable people like you, and I applaud you for lacking the extreme, over-the-top zeal I see in alot of people these days.

I listen to cnn online, but their spin has become as heavy as they and others have accused Fox news of being (rightfully so).

Honestly, The Daily Show really is the best news around. Unlike the other stations mentioned, at least this newscaster is willing to admit he's a comedian

Quoted For Fuckin' Truth. :D

Also, who really likes watching a "debate" which just devolves into four grown men screaming at each other?

Fox is a star in bashing the new health care reform. Here's another fine example: Fox reports that 70% of people in England hate their health care! [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.139572]. And a bit of my quote:

And second of all Fox is absolutely against health-care. When I was on my last vacation the only tv station they had in a language I could understand was Fox and the amount of contra-health-care propaganda was just sickening.

So now accountability and improving foreign relations are bad things? What a strange world we live in.
You dumbass, you're not gonna win this. Noone is gonna justify what Obama's doing. Because that isn't improving relations with other countries....It's siding with them!

You call me the ignorant one. Get killed.

I believe I already have... Anyway, it's not siding with another country to go "Hey, yeah, about that Iraq thing, we might could've done a little more research first and maaaaybe gone in with the support of more nations. Sorry about that." It's called being responsible for a mistake and owning up for it.

I mean... "Siding with them?" Seriously? As if we're all in some constant state of warfare with everyone outside our country, and you can't apologize ever or agree with someone else's point of view without being a traitor to your country? Hope you enjoy not having any allies, as that's the only place such a path would lead.

What a moron. Your country finally has a leader who is respected and the international community is finally starting to warm up to you morons again and you run your mouth about "sides" and wishing death upon those who disagree with you. Two things that got the US in it's current sorry state.

People like you are killing your country and are going to take the rest of the world down with it.

Yeah... Everyone hates America, and it's all the Bush Administration's fault. Obama's done more for international relations since January than Bush did in eight years. Of course, Obama could be like you and we could just side with Al Queda to nuke the lot of you. Trust me, if Obama was like you, that would be an option.

On Topic - Fox News reminds me of Brass Eye [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPrCsfd1E64], and it scares me to think that Fox News isn't a comedy too...

NBC and CNN are not "Left" as you say. One is owned by General Electric, which, if you know anything about them, are far, FAR from being left, and do you really think a company that employed/employs Glenn Beck and Lou Dobbs is left?

It was terrifying. They were talking about the war out in some mid-eastern country. Some old man mourning his family who were killed by a bomb.
And then, an Ice-Cream commercial right in our face. I almost lost faith in humanity.
The BBC don't air commercials, they're paid through tv license's. :)
edit: which is also why they have to be impartial on their reports and why i only trust them. Newspapers have their own agenda and most of them are owned by the same guy. Can't remember his name... :S

Oi. Health Care is a trainwreck. (A) How're you supposed to pay for it, and (B), let's just say, for sake of example, that you need an MRI.. You have to get on a list to see doctor, then on a list to get your MRI, then on another list to get a surgerey, probally aprox. 3 years of waiting for one surgery.

As for Fox News, it is defenitally biased, as is CNN and MSNBC. Just internet browse.
Is that the approx waiting time for england? Because if it is thats false. The maximum time to wait for an mri in england and wales is 6 weeks because they appointments are big and they rank by prority, if someone is injured more than you they'll go first.
edit: sorry for the double post.

Go ahead and drink your kool-aid Chipperz. The rest of us here will think rationally and understand that Obama is NOT the savior of the world and that apologizing to other countries for our "mistakes" makes us lower in the international power structure, not higher. And it's not the Bush Administrations fault entirely that other countries don't like us. Now any intelligent individual can agree that not everything Bush did was popular in the international community. But then again since when was this a popularity contest? But regardless I can tell you why we aren't liked much. The rest of the world resents us because we are the greatest country that has ever existed not to mention the most powerful (apologies to the Brits out there because if it weren't for you all we wouldn't be here). The only way Obama can make the rest of the world like us more is if he A) Fundamentally changes the USA. and B) Weakens our military prowess. Obama has actually promised to do A) but B) Thankfully he is not doing. At least not in Afghanistan where he actually sent in more troops with whom to maybe beat those POS Al Qaeda.

Anybody that takes Fox News without a pinch metric ton of salt is stupid. I'd double and tripple check everything I heard on there with other more reliable sources like the BBC because I've seen a fair bit of Fox's so called "reporting" and it amounts to a preachy, right wing, republican lapdog, jokes for the most part.

Maybe it's just because I'm English, but what really turns me off Fox News is the way they pimp their footage of genuine disasters (say, the Gaza conflict as an example off the top of my head) into a sort of stylish, gaudy clip show with a gritty voiceover like a "Previously on Lost" sequence. I just don't get why news has to be so glitzy in these situations.

Well, I'm not the president. And I'm not the one siding with the ones who can so openly speak of their wishes to kill Americans.

You are brainwashed, you can't see any wrong in what Obama does. He could kick down your door, shoot your dog, and would probably still vote for him out of blind ignorance!

The bbc has no commercials. You would not have seen an ice cream commercial on the BBC. And the news is on BBC1. Why lie?
