Wow, some of those shows got canceled so fast I've never even heard of them.Abedeus said:OH, THE IRONY! FAMILY GUY COPIED! I mean, he was copied... hehehe.D-C-P said:Don't copy family guy.The_root_of_all_evil said:Bender: Everybody, I've got bad news. We've been cancelled.
Zoidberg: Oh, no! Pete..Bender, how could they do that?
Bender: Well, unfortunately, Zoid, there's just no more room on the schedule. We've just got to accept the fact that Fox has to make room for terrific shows like Dark Angel, Titus, Undeclared, Action, That 80's Show, Wonderfalls, Fastlane, Andy Richter Controls the Universe, Skin, Girls Club, Cracking Up, The Pitts, Firefly, Get Real, FreakyLinks, Wanda at Large, Costello, The Lone Gunmen, A Minute With Stan Hooper, Normal, Ohio, Pasadena, Harsh Realm, Keen Eddie, The $treet, American Embassy, Cedric The Entertainer, The Tick, Luis and Greg the Bunny.
Zoidberg: Is there no hope?
Bender: Well, I suppose if all those shows go down the tubes, we might have a shot.
Also, of all those shows mentioned, I don't give a rat's ass about ANY of them. Okay, Tick (we're talking about the cartoon, right?) is good.
And Abedeus, while I find it disappointing that none of those shows cause a rats ass to be given from you, unlike me (okay so just Firefly and the Tick), it's nice to see someone else who remembers the Tick cartoon, the actually good adaptation of the comics. It's too bad the DVDs left out some of my favorite episodes due to legal reasons that apparently only caused concern with a DVD release but not when the show aired. Good thing I used to tape that show. "Hey! Your'e the guy who made my head hot! Well you're not going to make my friends' heads hot!"
On a slightly related note, Maurice LaMarche (who does a lot more voices than just Kif's on Futurama, though I suppose they only mention that because Kif is a main character, sort of), also did numerous voices on The Tick cartoon. Among these is one of my favorite characters from the cartoon and a voice that, despite attempting numerous times in the years since that show was on, I can't even come close to imitating: the Evil Midnight Bomber what Bombs at Midnight. It's a gravelly sort of voice that he mutters at top speed, but only when he's not shouting or giving the best insane laughter I've ever heard. I can try one line and have a sore throat that lasts only the rest of the day, if I'm lucky. I don't even know where to start on the laugh. This really sort of stinks because he is hilarious. But after trying I can appreciate LaMarche's work even more. I wonder if he does a special trick to keep his throat from ripping itself to pieces.
