It's kinda amazing how much of contemporary culture traces it's roots to Flash.

I hope Fox avoids the pitfalls that doomed John Carter's reboot. I've been reading the original comics and the setting is pretty damn cool

EDIT: Regarding Brian Blessed, I could see him playing Zarkov these days instead of Vultan.

Rather than thinking of just the movie, people should give some thought to the old cartoon I used to watch as a kid. As a CGI movie I think it could work.

This could be amazing. And I really hope it is. I've been wanting some more Flash love for a couple of years now!

Uh... Why do I feel like this is Ted's fault for some reason?

Nonetheless, they better make this reboot more camp than serious... or, at least, try to balance it out...

I guess I'm the outlier here, because I don't want to see a "camp" remake at all. That's not to say I want to see a gritty or "realistic" take either. Despite the sci-fi elements, it's a fantasy series at it's core. It needs to be fun, sure, but it should be played straight rather than over-the-top. The tone should resemble Star Wars (the good ones) or Indiana Jones.

I watched it again recently and I can say that the trailer there is 100x more interesting than the actual movie. Still there is a hell of a lot to work with there.

They'll do what now? Pffft, like hell they will. I predict mediocrity and failure. As stated above, the memorable Flash Gordan that will be remembered throughout the ages involves the legendary band, Queen, and the loudest man on the Earth, BRIAN BLESSED!
