Homefront? Haze? Medal Of Honour?

...Fallout 3? (Obviously being serious at this point)
Homefront is somewhat of a clone because the gunplay is very similar but the story and multiplayer is a lot different then call of duty. I can't comment on medal of honor much but with what I've seen it seems closer to battlefield then call of duty. I've never played Haze so I can't comment on that.

When people kept saying Halo clone it was mainly in reference to its mechanics imo. Regenerating health, 2 weapons, slow movement, Generic Space Marine protagonist etc. It's hard to deny that Halo was a driving force behind making console shooters popular so when everyone used the same mechanics they got called clones. Nowadays Call of Duty carries on the traditions with Regenerating health, 2 weapons, slow movement etc.

Some of us remember days where Doom and later Half Life set the bar for other shooters to work from, All the weapons, fast movement and health bars and lament that shooters have been reduced mainly to hiding behind boxes and peeking up for 2 shots instead of being in the thick of the action.

I also remember a day where shooters had very varied enemies, Dinosaurs, Demonic hordes and the Undead as well as generic Russians/Arabs.

Just opinions though, a lot of people like the slower way of doing things.
