So given the saturation of the market with generic, 'realistic' shooting people with guns simulators, I thought that an interesting game could be produced from the idea of a first person shooter involving no guns at all, where all the weapons are grenades.
Now I don't mean boring old frag grenades, I mean a whole range of unique grenades, each with different mechanisms and abilities, for example one grenade might sprout up a solid pillar of concrete where it explodes, one might launch enemies away from it, one might create an automated turret to shoot at enemies for you. All of these kinds of grenades would be used together by players for different strategies, as an example maybe a gravity grenade would pull enemies towards it and another would stick to walls and create a laser wire between it and the next one you threw of the same kind, you could set up a laser wire and then pull an enemy through it with the gravity grenade, slicing them in half. Say everyone chooses three different grenade types to use in a match and wields a grenade in each hand, switching between their chosen types at will. Some of the more powerful grenades would be limited perhaps by a cooldown before you can throw another one.
So what do you think of the idea? Is it awesome or is it awful because your flawless, unbiased logic says so? Make suggestions and point out its flaws, this thread was made on impulse and I'm sure there are some easy ones to spot.
