I would say that killing it would a strong word and would bring about much pain etc in the gaming community but I'm just plain sick of hearing about WoW.

Can I say map packs? Seriously after no more than a month a comapny will announce a new map pack that you can buy for ten bucks. Sorry developer, but I just spent $60 on your game, and I don't have another $10.

I play WoW and I'm sick of hearing about it. If I see one more Cataclysm commoercial I will persoanly kill a Blizzard marketing staffer. You already know if you were going to buy Cataclyism, no need to keep advertising it.

I'm all about 'live and let live', I just don't play things that don't interest me. So... a series I do play that needs to die: Guitar Hero.

The series reached a peak with GH3 and it's been downhill ever since. GHWT introduced other instruments and a weird career progression, GH5 did away with career progression entirely, the most recent one added (God help us) a story in place of career progression and included a load of stupid gimmicks that don't make any goddamn sense. The next one will probably do away with instruments and require us to play air guitar via Kinect/PSMove.

It doesn't help that a lot of the great and suitable songs have already been used and they're now at the point of rehashing - if you've bought all of the games and DLC, you'll have three or four versions of Free Bird. The most recent game holds the distinction of being the first in the series that I didn't buy on release and have no intention of getting later. It's time to let it die a dignified death.

I second you on this one. I used to be a heavy GH/RB player. Honestly, Rock Band is where its at these days, RB3 looks revolutionary, just as RB2 did upon it's release. The Guitar Hero franchise has been plummeting since GH2, the last good game in the series IMO. It's honestly to a point now where the games are getting silly and even more childish, when at one point it had a pretty good hold on the hardcore rhythm game players. Such a shame to see a good idea crawl over and die like that.

I'm glad somebody mentioned Pokemon... Yes, there are way too f***ing many of them now. I like the first 150. I will always like the first 150 and I am the proud holder of the first 150 in many formats but FFS please stop now! The new designs are poor, unlikeable and where the f*** did all these extra evolutions from the originals come from. Simply.. How the f*** are we supposed to catch them all if they keep F***ing coming!?
...I feel better now.

Oh and Halo.. Stop... just stop now... please..go away.

There are too many I want to end.

I love Final Fantasy. I really do. But I can't take it anymore. I can't stand by them and fangirl about how great their games are when I can't even play them for 10 hours without wanting to go do something else. Sorry. Done.

Despite what everyone else says, I don't want WoW to go away. I want WoW to get bigger and pull all the trolls from every other MMO away. I DO want other developers to stop trying to make WoW 2.0.

I'm pretty done with Fable. Not buying another one no matter how much "better" and "awesome" it is. In the words of many villians.... 'You have failed me for the last time.'

Wow this is easy and fun. Let me think here. I'm pretty done with the DYNASTY WARRIORS series. I don't know what # they are at now but it is WAY too damn many. It's the same damn--
Madden games. Go away.
--game over and over and over. No inspiration what-so-ever, no attempt to upgrade the game.

I can't say that I hate The Sims cause that's a lie, I hate how they charge 30$-60$ for their stupid expansions that only add half a dozen things to the game. Screw you and your expansions. You are not worth that kind of money.

I won't mention all of them, but all those lovable nintendo games who have been made/remade/repackaged so many times, whenever they announce 'Hey guys, we just wanted to tell you a new -------- game is coming out!' It's no surprise. Yeah. All of those.

I originally would have thrown Dragon Quest in here but I really like that DS one... *shuffles around* Yeah. Get rid of it. Start a new franchise please. :)

Oh. I'm done with remakes. Quit making them. I'm looking at you, Persona and Disgaea. You know who you are. Knock. It. Off.

2.paste
3.????? (people buying same game 6 time)
4.profit

even though it works that is just not good and is why i hate nintendo /rant

Is it cool to hate on CoD these days?

OT: I don't understand why you would want to kill a franchise. It would just hurt everyone involved. I'd rather just reinvent a franchise, as someone said earlier.

Star Wars, everything that made in that franchise is worse then before, so stop raping the dead Stormtrooper you got in the closet Lucas.

Kill the Sonic Team, just line them up on the street and gun them down, so people learn what happens to those abusing a good name.

Fable, well proven twice now they can't do it proper anymore, so leave it alone and do something new, or give it to someone with good ideas.

Halo, it's had a good run and now leave it on a good note.

Final Fantasy, it just doesn't seem to be getting back on the horse, so maybe it's time to retire it, or atleast go back and rethink some ideas because the guys are clearly talented but you can't have games with this aggressive JRPG style anymore.

Halo- OP said it, please let the series die with dignity.

Silent Hill- 4 was the last real Silent Hill game, 3 was the last one that was good.

Sean White- We already have Mr Hawk cluttering up the market, we do not have room for Carrot Top.

Batman: Arkham something- Mark Hamill is leaving the role of the Joker after Arkham City, I'm not saying that they can't get another game idea out of the series, but I don't know it would just feel wrong to do it without Hamill's Joker. Of course Arkham City hasn't come out yet, so maybe it'll end on a cliff hanger or something.

Duke Nukem- Forever is his triumphant return and it should be his last hurrah, otherwise everyone will have to wait another 12 years for Duke Nukem: And Ever.

Wow.. hate it with a passion. Pointless game. Took all my friends and any who didn't play WoW or said anything bad about it was booted from the "friend" group into a separate group for a while. It can burn in hell. I sorely hope Star wars: the old republic will deal a death blow to it. And by pointless - yes I tried it. Got to level 65 and thought that overall, the past two weeks of my life was pretty much wasted on that game. It didn't mean anything.

Call of Duty - Mainly because every shooter now seems to have more emphasis on MP. I know its not the only multiplayer shooter but now every shooter has some sort of level element and now all attention is on MP. I miss SP shooters. (My opinion)

Pokemon - Oh my childhood has been raped. Ever since they made the second generation pokemon I have been pissed off. I cant recognise them and I miss the original 150 DAMNIT! (Sweet memories of Pokemon Yellow)

World of Warcraft - I just dont get it. This is just me I think, but I really dont like it. Also, its painful to listen to my friends talk about WoW, mainly because thats all they talk about. And when they do, all I hear is "NNNNEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRGGHHHHHHHHH"

Minecraft (I don't care that you can spend ages building crap that can easily be destroyed by a common enemy.)

The Majority of Mecha series (half of them are just ridiculous looking contraptions that look like they would crumble if they were even slightly effected by gravity)

Star Wars (Go to hell Old Republic!)

The Sims (NOT the side stuff like Simcity and Spore though.)

Command & Conquer (Its best days are behind it If C&C4 was anything to go by.Wouldn't mind a Generals 2 though)

Portal (How many godawful memes are you going to make Valve?)

God of War: I don't see what could possibly happen from now on
Halo: Since Bungie's departure, I don't personally see what more Halo can give from Micro
MGS: It's done, anything else would be silly, I said it was done before but the new one on PSP proved me wrong, but now, seriously, its done.
Tekken: I can't say I'm all that excited by new Tekken games nowadays, its just add 5 more characters a few more levels and modes, done! Release Tekken 7.
Sonic: Except for the portable version, the console versions make me cry.
Pokemon: How much more can they possibly make?
Gears of War: After 3, I think it should just end, it was cool while it lasted, but its starting to wear thin on me now :(
CoD: I'm not entirely sure where it could possibly go from there, I heard about a version set in the distant future with marines...not so sure I like that idea, Halo's already done that.
(So sorry for the length...)

Say what you will, Pokemon is not going anywhere. And I'm perfectly fine with that. I am honestly one of those people who understands that the games design and set-up are practically perfection. The story elements are getting a bit old, and they should throw a wrench in the elite four and try something new there, but with the changes and additions I've seen for Black and White (as well as how well the game has been received in Japan so far.) It seems that they are starting to try some cool things, and with the new graphical capabilities of the 3DS on the horizon, this franchise's next installments will be VERY interesting, if only to see how they can implement the three dimensional graphics and 3D effects. The core games have never done anything like that before, and it could really bring people back just to check that out. Change some story things, and this franchise could really be looking incredibly strong next time around. The core mechanics remain extremely solid, and, unlike some franchises that need to go, it's actually coming back around to making changes to the formula instead of staying complacent.

Halo's future with me comes down to the first thing that comes from 343. If it's a disappointment it'd probably be best if Halo doesn't go the Call of Duty route. But if 343 can make a great game with amazing stories and design elements, I'm all for watching Halo keep going. I think there's plenty of things 343 could go after with Halo, but we'll see what they do.

I don't see Gears of War going far after the trilogy is over. Barring a "to be continued" from Gears 3 (won't happen, but might as well cover the bases) this will be the end of the whole human vs. locust vs. lambent deal, and thats really what Gears is all about. There are some cool stories from the early days of the war, but I just don't have a lot of confidence in Epic being able to carry this much further.

Call of Duty needs to just go away for a bit. It is very clear that some problems are just not going away, and that some things just aren't changing. They need to go back to the drawing board and figure some things out. Come back in three years or so, give it one more shot, and if they still haven't figured out how to fix this franchise, then yeah it needs to go. It's disappointing because it feels like it's going the same route (although with a few different stops) as Medal of Honor did.

Speaking of which, Medal of Honor needs to go. For good this time. The "reboot" showed that EA only cares about cashing in on the brand. I could care less what they have to say about it from now on. It's dead to me. Has been since Airborne.

Sonic is another one that needs to go, but I'm sure someones already covered that.
