I mean, this is the writer's (Greg) take of Wonder Woman right? Writers and artists are supposed to collaborate on how they want to represent the characters on the page. In this case Cho was contracted to do variant covers, so presumably his work was done outside of that collaborative process. If that's the case, then he should have enough respect for the creative team to realize that they (or at least Greg in this case) want him to portray the character a certain way. Art that reflects this interpretation of the character and is thematically consistent with the book.
That's not really the case with variant covers. They are more about the artist or theme than anything and don't necessarily reflect the style of the book or the regular creative team.

He was apparently mislead about his degree of creative control. I understand his frustration. Whether he is correct about the source of his frustration or the motivation behind it, I am in little position to render a verdict. From my (limited) exposure to Cho's work, part of me has to think that if someone hired him and expected something radically different from the work he's produced in the past, that was a strange and self-sabotaging move.

Calling this censorship is ridiculous when it just seems like simple creative differences with each party wanting more creative control from the other.

It's hard to tell how much fault for this friction lies with each party based purely on this... however I will say that Cho mouthing off about censorship and his detractor's political agenda is far from a good start in presenting himself as something other than total tosser.
