Given that the newest thread I could find about freeware games was sometime last year.......

What freeware games are people playing?

There are so many free games out on the net ranging from awful to incredible and I just don't have the time to look for them all.

Currently I am playing:

Dwarf Fortress
GunGirl 2
Battle For Wesnoth

Really enjoyed the maddeningly harsh Jumper series too.

N. It's brilliantly simple, and if you aren't careful it will take away hours of your time at a time.

Join Croesus - it's a site of freeware, indie and mods for games. Well worth it, there are some good games out there, and it really helped me work out what kind of games I enjoyed.

And for a blast from the past, I am currently playing through Jill of the Jungle. It is a maddening platformer, much harder than it looks!

And for a blast from the past, I am currently playing through Jill of the Jungle. It is a maddening platformer, much harder than it looks!

GunGirl 2 is still occupying my time, zombies, blood, metroidesque play area, powerups, blood, rpg elements, blood, did I mention the blood?
