It's come to my attention that 13th February is Free Hugs Day (started by the Free Hugs guy - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr3x_RRJdd4 ). Is anyone else going to 'celebrate' this?

I personally am going to make a large sign in 3 languages (French, German, English) saying "Free Hugs!". I'll be spending the day in Berlin and I'm sure the Germans will embrace the spirit of things.

Or lock me up..

So yea, anyone else planning on doing this on the official day?

Edit: Have done a search for this but only found results on the campaign - not the official day

Well, no. But I usually don't charge people for hugs on any other day either, so I guess that day is useless.

I would like to, but the 13th of February is the anniversary of a tragic event for me :S

Meh, i hug people all the time, why do it all on one day?!

Hugs are free anyway. If someone paid you for a hug, I'd 'celebrate' that.
Not you personally obviously. That'd be silly.

They're free but there's only one person ill hug and they live ages away from me.

And i think the point is to hug people you normally wouldn't, such as complete strangers, in order to spread the love...

Anyone in Britain who watches BBC News will possibly recognise the sight of the Parkinson Building of the University of Leeds, even if they don't know the name. Apparently on Friday there's something going on there, all over campus there are signs saying '3 days', or rather, '2 days' today, being replace as each day passes. Another sign says '13:13, on the 13th, Parkinson Steps'. I wasn't sure what it meant, I thought it was some sort of protest, but now I think I've cottoned on.

Yes, I will celebrate it by giving out free hugs.

I will also celebrate the release of the new Friday the 13 movie on the same day, by stabbing people in the stomach with a machete while giving them their free hugs.

It's not a protest at all Trivun. It's a school trip. I should know. I'm part of it.

But I've hugged enough people this year. Two is enough right?

And these things usually end up in the mods being pissed off at everyone involved.

I really hate getting hugged.... But it's a sweet idea, hope those who want a hug will get it. In my case... well, I'll just try and stay away from people all day.

I'm with Phil Jupitus on this one; guys that give out free hugs are just working their way up (down?) to being a rapist.
