free image editing program

does anyone know a decent free image editing program? something that is better then paint

I would recommend GIMP. It can be pretty good, though might take some getting used to depending on what experience you have with image editing software.

Yes, GIMP is the best you can get for free. It is pretty tricky for newcomers, but it works fine once you get the hang of it.

Paint.NET is something else that is good. Loads up faster than GIMP as well. It's less powerful, but for something basic, it works far better.

Gimp rivals photoshop in many ways. It is amazing what you can do with that program. I used it a lot for modding skins and textures in Total War games way back when. Good choice.
