Seeing some of the topics I can't help and wonder.

I see some people lift their opinion about a subject and their account gets locked,
especially if the opinion is on the negative side, well we are not all stuck in communism.

We are not all stuck in a religious cult that only accepts what they teach [ yes the world is not flat and no the sun is not revolving around us ].

I someone says a certain game, book, movie or anything else is a load of rubbish and can actually back it up with why he thinks so, then it leaves it open for debate.

Is a forum not an exchange of information on all related subjects? Instead of just locking someone you can just state why you think he is wrong.

On a lighter side, I also feel that the books and movies of Stephenie Meyer will slowly die out, I mean who can honestly say they will be reading SM in 50 years?

And I want blood bowl in SOUTH AFRICA!!!

You mean threads that get locked for being grossly inappropriate?
Reasons are pretty much always given for punishments and thread locks here.

Hm. You joined yesterday.

Welcome to the Escapist! I hope you enjoy your stay with us. Please ignore the body under the stairs and Doug, the troll outside. There some things you may want to look [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.116827] at [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.112832] before you continue to post.

[small]By the way, this'll probably get locked for disagreeing with our evil, monstrous charismatic and attractive mods.[/small]

When you signed up for this site you agreed to terms and conditions that you will harass or be racist/sexist/general dickiness.

They have a right to censor and block any of the above because you agreed that in return to use this site you must follow the rules and the moderators can enforce their powers if they deem any content that breaks these rules.

Free speech is similar - you could go out on the street and say whatever you wanted, if what you say may endager or harm another then authorities must interject.

Haven't you heard? Free speech is going the way of the dinosaur along with indulgent living, and regular old gas cars. Welcome to the bright future where we don't want your opinion, it'll probably just upset us, and please don't get in the way of my perfect diet and standard of living, and while your at it, don't drive your eco unfriendly vehicle through my entitled suburb.

Free speech isn't free in the same sense as free beer. There's still a price.
