Hello to all you PS Vita fans, and Escapists!

This thread is pretty straight forward. It is about the newest Playstation Vita game, Freedom Wars.
I made this thread so we can all discuss it, share opinions, and talk about our Accessories or Sinners.

So starting with myself. I picked up this game yesterday, and I was presently surprised that I spend all day playing the game. I created my Sinner, enlisted in my local city's Panopticon, and I started off my adventure with my short, female Accessory.

The parts I was most pleased with was the setting, which really made me believe that I am a prisoner in the system ... especially when you first try to sleep. Then there is the entitlement system. This gave my character a small hope, that he may be comfortable in his new 'home'. And of course, the Accessories, your in-game Warden companion which follows you everywhere. The funny thing with them is that people over the internet are calling them their "waifus". Still, the customization seems satisfying so far, but I hope to see more clothing options further in the game.

Overall though, I am quite pleased with the game, and while there could be improvements in the controls (especially with the hip-firing with the guns. Which is annoying to control both right analog and firing button.), and the increasing difficulty, but I'm sure that is my problem with my speeding problem. Another disappointment is that they removed the option to customize your Accessory's voice. While I understand the removal of the custom battle quotes, I really wanted to change her tone and pitch. So I still hope they give us that option, especially since one of the in-game NPCs teases me about it.

Anyone everyone, give me your own thoughts about Freedom Wars.
... and lets all hope we don't kill each other out there. :D

EDIT:

Also feel free to include your character details, Panopticon, and PSN name.

Been playing it for a while, but being in Sydney can hardly play online.

I dunno what the fuck it is, SSD works almost fine online no matter who im playing with, but with Freedom Wars, if they aren't on my side of Australia then its absolutely terrible.

But asides from that, enjoying Freedom Wars quite a lot, the thorn is a great system for this game, the gameplay itself is quite fun. Wish there was a bit more variety in the abductors but still pretty damn good.

And I actually enjoyed the story, but I have seen quite a few complaints about it.

If anyone in Australia is playin Freedom Wars and wants someone to play with, PSN ID is Rappelz21

Started playing it myself, loving the extra years you get for the most minor of things.

Accessory: You look tired, why don't you go to sleep.
Sinner: Not tired.
-20 years for not following Accessory's advice-
Sinner: Fine sleep it is.
-20 years for lying down, you are not allowed-
Sinner: .... *Sleeps in the sitting position*

-Buys entitlement to run for more than 5 seconds-
*Runs*
-20 years you are not allowed to run for more than 10 seconds-

One thing that bothered me was the height thing... 5.9 is like as high as you can go and I wanted to be at least 6 so I near maxed out on it (didn't want to make my head too big)...and I was a titan. Citizens are like 4 foot tall... which I've been told are for plot reasons...but its all so odd looking...being 5.9 and being a giant and even though I'm so much larger being insulted by midgets constantly for being so big.

Oh thank God you responded! I was getting lonely in here.

Weird.
I haven't updated my game due to internet problems, but I'm in the Perth Panopticon, and I' betting it is quite barren.
If you want to try your luck, maybe try joining the Freedom Wars Australia facebook group, it seems there seems to be many Sydney guys on there.

As with the variety of Abductors, I can see where you are going, I mean their loadout changes, and they may be different colours due to their resistances, but they are still the same model.
Although from my point of, the spiders are the only variety I need ... because they're a pain in the ass to deal with on small maps.

With the story, I agree, it is fine, the objective is clear, and the overall story is fine, but the only thing I wish for is that they had more choices, and Persona-like dialogue options. Though I haven't got to the end of the story yet, so I can't say anything yet.

Oh yeah, I forgot to say my PSN.
It's StormShaun if you want it. :D

I'm not sure about perth, but sydney is ranked 18 or 19 atm so far, with hong kong being number 1 I believe. Have seen a few people from perth and a few from sydney, but for some stupid reason we are in the european region so I'm seeing a lot of spain and greece and london etc.

The spiders and the tigers were a good addition, kept it varied enough that I found new light in it lol.

Not going to lie with the story though, I mean it did what it was meant to do, string you between missions with a purpose, but holy crap the story went in a way I didn't expect.

Ah, and thanks for the tip about the aussie FB group, just joined and throw my psn on the list they have, hopefully get some games going then.

Haha might add you cause its always good to have more friends, but I'll have to do it when I get back home, unfortunately dont have my vita with me.

Haha, I cracked up at that part, I like how they threw some humor into it with those penalties.

Oh, I didn't realise that it was for a plot purpose that they were so short. It never occurred to me that they were short for a reason, I thought it was just to distinguish between sinners and citizens.

Agreed, I must say that the immersion is damn good in this game.
That part also got me, and I laughed at the amount of rights you have at that level.
Although the entitlements seem to make the game really progressive. I only wished you could have the right to hang up a poster in your cell.

With the height, you I have to agree with that, but I've factored in my head that the humans in this world might be a whole lot shorter due to the future or something.

Spiders and tigers ... together they make my worst nightmare.
And no problem, that Facebook group is active, and there seems be a lot going on.
Also having another friend on PSN is great. For some reason I don't have many people on my list. :/

But I'll accept whenever my internet is tweaked to allow my PS Vita/3DS to connect.

I'm on the fence about this game, not because I don't think it looks good but because it looks like another Monster Hunter :(
I don't really like MH type games, I like the idea but the slow pacing of the game ends up putting me to sleep in the end

is there a single player progression mode?
is the story good?
is the character creation good?

now let me clarify I don't mind the MH style, what I don't like is the slow movement. MH as cool as it is can never hold my attention because the characters move so slow that I get bored. To date the only hunter style game I been able to get into has been God's Eater Burst

The story is okay but kinda ends nonsensical/tailfish in the end but is very intriguing. The setting, on the other hand, is fantastic, with a huge social hub to visit

Character creation is exceedingly good for this type of game. You can fine tune a shitload of stuff to even individual pieces of clothing's colours and such

The game itself is a more faster paced hunting style game with bits of TPS style shooting thrown into it, and grappling hook goodyness to hang on monsters and walls alike.

Also there's chainswords

Buyer's remorse with this one. Feels unpolished, AI team-mates are nearly useless, fights lack much strategy, you can run and gun for much of the game, and you will often fail missions because the maps are so large that most of your time is spending jogging about while being slowed down by infinitely re-spawning enemies. The art style is at least pretty rad.

Having a blast with it so far. You're right about the immersion part, cause I found myself thinking like a prisoner in the system fairly quickly, making sure I didn't do anything against my rights. Haven't seen a red text thingy shoved in front of me for awhile now. Guess that means I was put in line? o3o

Gameplay is good fun! Been experimenting with new weapons and I find myself greatly enjoying pole-arms for the ability to leap high into the air and pull some cool moves. Very fun~ I also got an auto-cannon that fires a Cutting damage type laser beam. Yes, it's fun too.

Kinda wish there was more variety with the Abductors, but, they all provide a good challenge. I'm only at the tail end of CODE 3, so, I can't wait to see how things progress!

I've enjoyed my time with the game so far. My only problem is figuring out where to get certain items, since there isn't an English wiki for the game yet. I need certain materials to upgrade my chainsword and I can't seem to find them.

I will say that the one time I managed to lose my accessory, I was incredibly pissed and instantly jumped into a spec op to get her back. Que epic music.

I'm in the Chicago Panopticon, which is like rank 16 last I checked.
