hello, just looking for some suggestions on some good free downloadable games as i find myself oversupplied with free time and boredom, and very much lacking a decent gaming budget, so if anyone could point me towards some fun and free stuff, much appreciated

Also, The Spirit Engine 2. Up there with TF2 as one of the best freeware titles I've played.

As said previously, TF2, and I would also throw in Spiral Knights as another great free to play game on steam.

 

[Stall]

Shoot First is one my favorite. It's a fun little shooter roguelike. It's not something you can play for hours, but it's a great little go-to game that's good in small doses.

Spelunky is also great. It's a randomly generated kind of Indiana Jones sort of game. Pretty fun stuff.

There's also tons upon tons of flash games, but I am sure you know how to find those already.

Nethack and Dwarf Fortress are both very good games if you can get over them being ASCII. There are plenty of mods and tilesets that give them basic graphics though.

champions online as gone free to play and its pretty fun, so has age of conan although I havent played that since launch

Any of them. They are all fantastic.

All those mentioned above plus a game called vega strike. It is a neat space trading / combat / politics sim that I have sunk many hours into. It is unique because you actually get to fly a realistic (in control) space ship.
