That's funny, because I was just looking for some Maldivean easy listening music.

Anyway, I didn't even know there was such a thing as French rap. French electronic dance music, maybe, but French rap? That's...that's pretty out there.

MC Solaar is brilliant.

That's the main one I can think of, and probably the only rap I actually like. MC Solaar is more jazzy hip hop, but fuck it, it's close enough, and it's actually really good.


And believe me, I hate rap.

Dude, that is pretty chill. I'm going to have to put one of his albums on my iPod now.

OT. No, I'm afraid I don't know any French rap, though I'm with the OP, I'd like to hear some. I like foriegn music, and I've heard some good stuff out of France. I do know some Russian rap though, if that counts for anything... though I don't know that I'd go so far as to call it good. It's not bad, really, it's just kind of silly though.

Edit: he isn't French, but the artist Guru did a fantastic French-English song called "Le Bien, Le Mal".

Darra J (a Senegalese group - they rap in a couple of languages, but French is one of them)
MC Solaar has already been mentioned, but he's super cool and I just want to second the rec. He's more pop in terms of lyrics and such - most french hip-hop is really socially conscious, which is cool.
Omnikrom are pretty good. Nice beats.
Muzion are another awesome group. Definitely check them out.
Akhenaton, from the group IAM, is one of my faves. His group is pretty good, too.

There's a couple I can think of - if you want I can mention a few more, but those are the ones that stand out.
