I know there are a lot of 18 to 20 year olds on this site and you are all full of piss and vinegar and ready to grab life by the balls and show it who is boss. But lemme tell you something. After you get a real job and have to do the daily grind, it wears you down. And Friday afternoons become a time sink. You look up and see it is 2:30 pm. Half an hour rolls by and you look up again and it is only 2:35 pm. This is what you have to look forward too. I'm sorry.

Friday afternoons are great. You just work like you would any other day but then you realize it's Friday and you start joking with friends and having fun and whatever. Except that's what every day is like for me when working.

I dunno if that's exclusive to working. I had the same problem with high school. It got exponentially worse when snow days extended our school day by 30 minutes for the last couple months of school. I'd sometimes forget and be like "Alright, it's 2:04, only one more min-ah shiiiiiit".
The only solution I had was just to avoid looking at the clock like it was an 80-year old dancing naked.

I still hate Weekends more than Friday afternoons. Sunday is the single worst day of the week whereas Monday is my favorite of all days.

So what's the discussion value here?

Or are you just complaining that life is utterly meaningless because your particular way of enjoying Friday afternoons is boring? Not to be a dick, but honestly, you just sound like a whiny kid. If you are bored, quit complaining and go do something. You know, other than complain on the internet.

Oh please don't remind me. There's a few reasons why I don't want to be going back into full time employment while I'm still at uni, even if it is only over holidays, and that is one of them!

Of course, it didn't help that the last full time job I had didn't have a set finishing time. Yeah, I was only paid up until 4:30, but I regularly worked past that (practically every damn day) and never got any pay for it...

Well, considering this friday afternoon marked the coming of the season finale of one show in particular, yeah. I agree. Friday afternoons will suck for quite some time. And they will most likely suck as much as you say when I'm no longer a full-time student.

Might as well have fun while I can.

Fridays are great. They're my personal development time. Didn't you hear the song?

I wonder how full of vinegar you are to be typing something like this. Also if we look at my dad he does not seem to be thinking like you when it comes to friday afternoons...

Maybe they don't have the saying where you come fro, but to be full of piss and vinegar means to be full of life and vitality and not take crap from nobody. I'm at work, bored as hell entering in checks, so no I am not full of vinegar right now. Give me a few hours, and then I will be.

It's exam season, and my Fridays are a pain.

CMON LAD! IT'S Friday, Friday...
Ninja'd, on similar a note I believe it is common to practice to "get down" on friday, my nights just been episodes of the boondocks and my little pony so far when I should be revising.

Ah well social commentary and ponies shall get me through life just fine...

You think the weekend will be great until you remember you are in a shit job due to the economy and you are working the morning shift on sunday. Yay for one day weekends! I would say most work is a time sink no matter what day.

I vote that we remove the false concept of time from our lives! Who is with me? We shall replace it with a fun meter.
