Friday Sale: 25% Off Grand Theft Auto V For PC

So many delays, but at least you can get $15 off, right?

Here's a nice Friday special edition of our weekly "Big Deals" post.

Grand Theft Auto V will finally grace PC screens a little over two weeks from now on April 14th. If the standard $59.99 retail price seems a bit stiff for a game that's a year and a half old on consoles, there's a way to make it cheaper. This weekend only, we have a special 25% off code for GTA V at digital game retailer GMG.

Just head to GMG here, make sure you enter voucher code 25DEAL-ZONTVA-GEXCLU during checkout, and you'll be golden. If you receive an "unable to add voucher" error, itfs most likely because you've neglected to enter in a mailing address in your account profile.

The 25% off voucher code is exclusive to Grand Theft Auto V and will only work on that game. Having said that, it does work worldwide, cutting the price to '30 in the UK and 45? elsewhere in Europe. The code expires on Monday, March 30th at 8AM Pacific.

In addition to the discount this weekend, you'll also get the $1.5 million in-game cash bonus. Here's the quick breakdown:

You get $500,000 towards the GTA V game
$700,000 for GTA Online mode
$300,000 additional for GTA Online -- if you pre-order by March 31st.

GMG will also send out keys ahead of time when the game becomes available for pre-loadc though take note: this is a Rockstar Social Game Club key which will be required to play GTA V on the PC. The game will take up 65GB in hard drive space and regardless of compression should be a fairly large download.

I'm not sure I should get knowing GTA port history.
Absolutely, if Rockstar do a good port (for once), I'll be all over this one, even at full price. Until then, nope.

Max Payne 3.

Phenomenal port.

And its that same team is porting over GTA V. I think people gotta calm down a bit. With GFWL gone and a team with excellent history with porting I expect this port to be at least as good as Max Payne 3's port was.

Whats the point of 15% if the game is going to be released in 3015?

Also you have to be really rich to preorder anything.

This doesn't work in AU, sadly.
Yes it does.

The problem is the Australian default price is like $75 so this voucher brings the price down to $56 which is only like $2 cheaper than the normal 'VIP' price.

So i've never used GMG.
I'll receive the activation Key at release date ? If i buy it now, what preorder bonus do i receive, if any, if they hand out the codes so relatively late?
R* has a pre April Preorder Tier. If i burn my Money on virtual money (and nothing else), i at least want it all.

I would rather not preorder from GMG after the first and only time I trusted them with one which was for Watch_Dogs

I what I mean is that Microsoft give Rockstar a ton of money to keep the game exclusive to their system for 2 years.

No they didn't. It was released on both ps3 and xbox 360 at the same time, then re-released recently on xbox one and ps4 with it being pushed back to a later date on pc to insure quality control.

Well making textures, effects and Anti Aliasing for the Medium, High and Ultra settings takes a lot of time.
The PS4 and Xbone releases only needed more textures but that left High and Ultra and all the other effects. :p

Yes this is bait.

In all seriousness that rockstar took this much time to get the PC version out is a huge slap in the face for PC gamers. Then again there is business in that thinking. Console games sell a lot at the start but dwindle just as fast. PC games don't have the same spike at the start but they keep selling for years (GTA IV was on the top seller list during the last two big Sales.) So getting the spikes from the consoles out they now release it on the platform where they'll get a steady paycheck for the next years to come.

Mixed feelings for GTA V. But hopefully we'll see what's what in two(ish) weeks time.

It wasnt exlusive, it was on ps3, infact up until gta iv, all rockstar games were released first on ps, then on pc and then on xbox.

At 2008 more x360s were sold than ps3s so they did both and assigned he pc port to rockstar torronto which was utterly screwed due to a few months dev time.

Now why did gta v take so long to come on pc? Who knows but it is clearly a development issue since max payne 3 by rockstar vancouver was ported to pc, so was bully thanks to rockstar new england and la noire thanks to rockstar leeds.

I can understand they wanted to keep it until they launched the ps4/xbox one versions but the 3 delays are riddiculus. Ok they wanted to start 2015 with sales, but they delayed it to march, either the console versions kept on selling or there was something wrong with the pc version and considering how most 2014 games launched broken, i am not suprised they wanted to delay it.

It better be golden when it comes out. They had all the time in the world.

Now on deals , gta iv had timed x360 exlusive dlc, tomb raider underworld had fulltime exlusive dlc and all "playstation only" ubisoft dlcs are on pc. Then you got the timed tomb raider deal.

I dont think ms had a hand in this, seems to me it is just rockstar sucking hard on pc as usual.
