One of the things I've gotten in the habit of saying to people is "never question videogame logic." Probably stemming from my 3 semesters at my college. I picked fridge logic as the phrase for this after reading lots of tvtropes.org.

An example of what I'm talking about are the Floormasters in the Legend of Zelda series. You know, those creepy disembodied hands that drop down and if you don't move in time, you get taken up and killed?

Well, I remembered just today how I was watching a friend playing LoZ and how they died many times before eventually going on a nice killing streak of the little bastards. And something just occurred to me. If those things are supposed to be disembodied hands... then what the hell are they attached to?

Never did figure that out but reading another thread here just reminded me about that.

So... what kinds of interesting logic have you peeps come across in videogames that make you scratch your head or just frustrate you?

Maybe,it being in the Legend of Zelda,it leads to some ghost or disembodied head that Nintendo would not allow to be shown due to too much Link death

How come if Doom 3 is in the future, how come the flashlight is seperate from your gun? Why not use night vision?

If hearing the Song of Healing cured people's troubles into masks, why did Link have to learn how to play it?

I assumed they were enchanted to be bound within the Dungeon's walls so intruders wont get to the boss...they could be magic hands i guess?

Not really sure, it could be simular to this..thenagain the clip itself is pretty spoilery and doesnt really make much sence, more like Story Breadcrumbs to be honest.

My Fridge Horror was from Cave Story, it was mostly the one of endings really....

SERIOUSLY, DON'T CLICK THIS UNLESS YOU KNOW ALL THE ENDINGS OR SOMTHING
vvvvv
You have to keep your original gun and make sure you don't trade it away untill you get the Booster 2.0 instead of following the scientist when he falls down, later on you'll get his Jetpack, instead of continuing you have to go back to the beginning to get the Spur. But okay, the major thing is rescuing Mr. Little, but make sure that you don't return him and you kill the Doctor as the Undead Core, but just avoid the Bonus stage, the ending essencially means that everyone on the Island is dead...the ending itself sounds cheery causing a severe case of Mood Whiplash....Mr Little says "...Aren't you forgetting something" and thats when the fridge horror strikes, yes YOU killed his entire family! after the entire island plummeted to earth
