sooo I don't know anyone here
and I figured from the profile badges that the escapist likes it if you friend people
but I didn't want to friend random people
sooo.....help, I guess, would be nice.

Don't think about it. If somebody says something hilarious or sentimental, friending them is a great way to show respect for it. I don't have a lot of friends, but I don't say anything to any of them. Stop being afraid of people here, it's not that big a deal.

Posting a thread about it makes you look desperate. People friend people they respect, looking desperate is not a way to make others respect you.

Indeed. Some people I've befriended after arguments or bouts of general epicness, and others just to show respect for their greatness.
Well check out the topics, post a few relevant things and perhaps go from there, if someone makes you laugh or backs up your argument, there's a good start.

I rarely friend people first. I've only done it for four of my 26 friends (and one of them was literally begging for someone to friend him). They mostly friend me first. Does that make me popular?

I got friended by a small girl in a bowler hat. For reasons unknown. I'd chalk it up to my devilish good looks, but the closest devil depiction to me in the history of Devils was Diablo.

I don't dig the graves, I just look after the place.

Actually yeah it's really nice. It's mighty fine. Peaceful. Especially this time of year when there is snow everywhere and dead leaves all around...

It's not important, most people would prefer that you don't add people as friends just because there are badges involved. It's not nesecary.
