Have you ever just come to the sudden realisation that everyone you think you like, you see as a friend or girlfriend, wife, whatever, you actually hate? Ever been spending time with people and enjoying yourself, but then realised that these aren't people you want to associate yourself with, and that you don't really like their personality or demeanor?

Sometimes I feel that even the people closest to us we only spend time with so as not to be alone. Thoughts?

I tend to like most of the people I know. They just don't really get close enough to me to be called "friends".

I think it's more of a mutual thing. We hang out with each other to pass time and have some fun.

Nah, my friends are great. I'm sure there are better matches for me, but I don't care. We have our differences. For one, I'm Swiss and they're all Chinese, including my girlfriend. But the differences lead to new experiences. I would never have gone clubbing if my one friend wasn't a total clubber, for example.

I thought thread was about this:

I guess, one my neighbors used to be one of my friends even though I actually kind of hated him at times.
