Front Mission Series

I remember playing the first on on PSX about...say 5-6 years ago? And I absolutly fell in love with it. I loved the tactical play and the Mechs. The customisation available and also the rich, lush story attached to it.

Now, with the new game coming out (Hopefully in the new year) and moving to what appears to be a Third-Person Shooter. I was wondering if anyone else was a little worried this great series might lose some of its shine?

The one that came for the PSX was Front Mission 3, the 4th was also released in America (though I don´t know if it was released in Europe) for the PS2. And as far as I know this series often tries different types of spin-offs, like Gun Hazard (a side-scroll shooter) and Alternative (somekind of indirect tactical game).

Unfortuantly 4 never saw a PAL release...quite sad really. I always wanted to play it, got the OST and everything.

Too bad. And then Square Enix didn´t released FM5 outside Japan.

Hopefully Evolved, being more action oriented, gets an international release.

Yay, someone else who likes FM! That makes 5!

I've played 4 and 1 (the extremely difficult remake) quite a lot, and witnessed someone else play the start of 3 (the most commercially popular one and the only one to ever have a branching storyline). Apparently, both 3 and 2 had severe loading issues for the battle transitions; this is probably why FM4 got rid of them, and is thus my favorite.

Hated that FM5 wasn't released in America, especially considering that it brought back arena battles in custom teams, including cameos from all four of the previous games. Maybe the next one will have better luck.

I like Front Mission! I was going to get the DS one, but I guess I never got around to it.

Front Mission is awesome. Sadly living in Australia pretty much means I only got to play the one on the SNES, which I've finished about three times. Love it!
