In order to combat the continuous streams of people wrapping anorexics in rags and putting on big shows on a yearly basis the world governments have decreed that from this day on only one era/theme style of clothing is going to be produced and a general election is being held to decide on how mankind shall dress for the rest of eternity how will you vote be as specific as you can and for we fashion illiterates try and give examples.

To start the ball rolling I'll go with 60's rockers and for my frame of reference Simon's wedding from the boat that rocked hell the whole movie the outfits were alive and vibrant in colour

Probably the 20's with suits+hats for every man and flappers.
How dare you steal my answer!

I'll admit that my main reason for wanting 20s fashion is that I love flapper dresses to bits. They're fun to wear. Selfish, perhaps, but it's as good a reason as any.

Plus... men in suits. I have yet to see a man who doesn't look much better in a suit.

you've yet to meet me, I'm like 400lbs, I look like crap in a suit. Personally I think it'd be better to just ban "fashion" entirely, making people dress how they want to dress as opposed to dressing how they've been brainwashed to dress.
Aw, don't put yourself down! I'm sure you look fine in a suit. Just because someone is overweight does not mean they look bad in a suit, as long as it's tailored right.

Now, if you want to get technical, there's no such thing as "fashion," as such, anymore. Because the... things... you see on the runways, which certainly aren't going to be worn by normal, everyday people.
