Frustrating gamers

So I was just in a versus game of Left 4 Dead 1 and I get booted for being a good player. Some guy got smoker'd, another got boomer'd and the last guy just stood around. I was the furthest away from the guy that got smoker'd and he's yelling on voice chat for someone to save him. So obviously I start hauling ass to save him, but since a guy just got vomited on, a horde has spawned and is right up our noses, so I have to shoot/melee my way through a bunch of infected (You know how you can hardly move if you're getting hit?), through two other players (granted, one couldn't see shit with the vomit and all) and jump up on a ledge to save him (edit: I couldn't shoot the smoker, he was below my field of view and I had a tier one shotgun so as much as I tried, I couldn't shoot the tongue).

And save him I did. And what do I get for it? Expletives. He starts raging at me for not saving him quick enough and swears he wont give me pain pills if I need them. Fast forward a few minutes and we find a first aid kit, the same angry fella is pretty low on health too, so naturally he's the one to use his own kit. He gets the kit out and just stands there, staring at the other kit. So I type "use your fucking kit dude", and he starts raging at me again and calls a vote to boot me. And booted I did get.

I mean, what the fuck. I did everything right, I saved his ass and played pretty well (seriously, I had a good game, plenty of mid-air hunter punts) and I get booted.

So, any of you forum goons have any stories to share of other pissed off gamers that got you booted because they were insane?

You can easily get your ass booted from counterstrike. I'm usually horrid at it, but just one time I had a lucky streak and they kick me off. Or a Starwars Battlefront server loaded with griefers and guess who they kick off... Ok, that wasn't so bad in retrospect.

also yeah CS:S is horrible to play because everyone who plays online now is a hardcore counter-strike only person who can jump off a building and headshot you from halfway across the map with an MP5. they're pretty lame and give people a lot of grief for not being as good. kind of opposite situation I guess...

Eh, i guess there are jerks everywhere.

Usually i get into some pretty solid groups for L4D, but once in a blue moon you'll wind up with the guy who keeps announcing to everyone how bad they are.

It's like that in any online game where there is other people involved, i'm afraid. Anyone who has ever played a BG in World of Warcraft knows what i'm talking about. There always seems to be that one guy who composes a story in chat about how much the team sucks...Makes you wonder if maybe the guy spent more time focusing on the game and less time bitching, then maybe we'd get somewhere!

I just don't care and go to a different server.
Posting your grief and venting steam won't change the people you play with but changing servers will. Thats why I go to a selected few servers with the same players (speaking for BF2 because I don't play L4D).

Left 4 Dead is just one of those games you really need to play with friends, L4D randoms are usually awful. I play it on the 360 and unless I fill both teams with guys from my friends list there's almost always someone ragequitting, griefing, standstilling, not using their mic, etc...

the only kind of people i hate in L4D are:

A: Asshats who barely do anything because they are "too good for you".
B: Asshats who calls everyone noobs even tho he suck more than a cow stuck in deep puddle.

I was once booted from a Counterstrike server because someone thought I was using a no recoil hack, which I wasn't. I wasn't even doing anything game breaking either. I was only getting a modest amount of kills, but nothing over the top. But they insisted and I got the boot.

They're everywhere. You play any game, in this case Left 4 Dead, on any platform, and that twelve year old kid is waiting there for you.

I know what you mean. L4D is bad for idiots, before the patches came through for it on Live I used to get booted just for trying to play the game properly, for not blocking off exists using the scenery.

On the other hand those guys that are rubbish I find really funny, it makes the game more exciting trying to herd new players around so they don't get killed (or so they get killed in hillarious ways if you're playing infected!).

Lmao, I totally understand. Happened to me a few times, little kids playing in games that boot you for being good.

But also, Halo 3 is a frustrating game, even little kids that sucked in halo 2 can be semi good in halo 3. Just nade, shoot and miss, and beat down. It's that simple for ****** kids who aren't even old enough to play the game, be some mediocre at it.

I get that alot on left 4 dead. I start to greif them if they are ungratful or just generally unfair towards you, even though you are saving the day for everyone. In one case on xbox i did so well the lobby ganged up on me, sending negative messages and all filed complaints against me in an attempt to get banned. Lucky i saved the messages and i contacted M$ and they taken action against the unfair players.

What's worst is on the PC when this can happen against unfair server administrators. I was once booted for swearing; mind you, yes, I was angry, but no, not at anyone in particular. I hadn't actually SEEN any warnings that the server didn't like swearing. Weirdest part is, I was WARNED about it; to which I thought "Oh, ok. I apologi-" and then I was booted.

What I'd like is an inverse of the "Server Bans" site (which keeps track of a player blacklist, consisting of hackers/griefers that VAC/PunkBuster missed) that blacklists SERVERS from appearing in your public game list (if they fake their number of players, have abusive admins, or in rare scenarios, have some way of altering your game or statistics, etc)
