trying to catch them all in the newer pokemon games without cheating not only do you have to buy 2 or 3 games plus you have to go to events although i will admit with the whole online trading it had made it a lot easier but still over 250 cmon this is just ridiculous

Playing Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, I fought the first Ogre boss (that I know of) after having spent most of my starting out time levelling up (I try to stay a step ahead of the curve). I got my ass handed to me. Hours and hours of grinding, only to find out that I needed... more hours and hours of grinding.

That's when I stopped playing.

Ninja Gaiden 2. The armadillo boss. I thought that was as bad as it could get until I fought TWO AT ONCE near the end of the game, which gave the camera an excuse to ruin itself prioritizing the two, coupled with the fact that the bosses explode at the end which is an instant kill if you don't block and dodge.

I keep a class built for those moments.
Scavenger + Danger Close + any perk + Semtex, M16 grenade launcher and an RPG7/AT4?

That's what I do and it pisses so many people off, it's comical.
Most of the time I use the TAR-21 or M4A1 with the GL for this class (as I prefer to use the GL for long range shots, and the TAR and M4 are better at handling close/medium range combat) but I do use most others also, and sometimes I will take the javelin if it is an objective based game mode, but that is pretty much the class.

(landing shots with the GL from most of the way across the map just feels somehow badass, particularly if I had to shoot through as small gap (like a doorway at a tight angle))

I do love the reaction it gets, it almost feels like trolling in an FPS.
Good for releasing stress when you are pissed off.

Whenever I see any quad freeze in a Pump It Up chart, I say "fuck that noise", especially on double.

Also every quick-scrolling level in any Gradius game ever made.

I found a way to get through that room with no fuss at all...

As soon as you get there hurl a flashbang to center of the room, then run your ass off towards the door where you can stop them spawning. Throw another flashbang to the left as you go.

Then just pick off the three or four guys who spawned from the safety of the corridor.

Easy peasy!
I... I think I love you!

OT: Online gaming, when every single guy on my team decides they want to be a sniper, and then are surprised when we lose.

Alwaysalwaysalways when I am playing a game I like, usually one of those fun building jumpy games, and everything is good and then, it turns out, once the game begins proper, that
"Defend 'X' until variable 'Y' =_True" missions comprise at least half of the gameplay.
I cry a little, then turn off the console. At the powerpoint.

Well I blame myself for this one more than anything, I was playing Oblivion exploring a dungeon when I came across a chest, hmm I wonder what's inside I said. Inside was an amazingly powerful spell for the stealth based fighter that I was, I had 95% Invisibility walking around with the amazing spell "Touch of Death" when used I was able to kill anything except a few things I think zombies was one of them but skeletons died with one touch. But later on in the level I activated a trap and was crushed by boulders and I was so busy having fun I Forgot to save my game! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!

Flashbangs are your best friend in COD4 Veteran. Mile High Club is almost impossible without using them at very specific points!

Prototype's final boss, not only is he rehashed from earlier in the game but he has an attack where if you aren't at full health you WILL die.

FUCK THAT.

I always find Mile High Club quite funny with Ragtime Warfare on. I know it kinda makes it impossible to beat, but funny as hell when I first saw it. I always have the worst luck(or would that be a lack of skill) with flash bangs. Always end up being the death of me in any game.

Playing online certainly helps. You use your stuns/flashes a lot.

I went back and finished it on Veteran after playing the multi for a while. No bots could ever be better than some of those 24/7 COD nerds...

Leviathan made me put Dead Space on hold. And all the FFS experiences I've had in online CS:S, COD2 and COD4 have put me off of getting back into all multiplayer shooters.

Hmm....
There was also this one time when I was playing through the single player campaign of Worms 2.
I still can't get past that fucking floating platform level.
Both teams have 1 teleporter, some rope, a shotgun, and a pistol. And they're fighting over an empty void. The AI has the advantage of NEVER making a SINGLE FUCKING MISTAKE when aiming for my worms. No matter how high I set the resolution, I can't see all of the FUCKING map in order to be to hazard an accurate guess as to where the fuckers on the AI team are. Oh and did I mention that this is one of the stages where you aren't allowed to pick which worm to control.

Fuck you Worms 2 single player. Back to local human controlled teams for me.

Online play can be very bad for my blood pressure/faith in humanity/sanity, especially if I'm not on a team with people I know. It's just scary how good some people are. My friend being one of them, if he's not at work, he's on MW2. Well that or out to the clubs. It's inter-changable.

Take any multiplayer FPS with a capture the flag,or destroy the objectif mode.
Now have all the guys on one team spawn camp the other team.It really pisses me off when you spawn and receive:
1 rocket
2 or 3 sniper rifle bullets
50 machine gun bullets

Seriously,I just came from a BC2 server where there even was a blackhawk(complete with side mounted miniguns) parked in our base and a uav hidden in a building.Queue in the ridiculous idea of giving every sniper access to artillery, not linked to one another so the cooldown perdiod is unique for every sniper,of course, and you get the most infuriating match I've ever played.

Needless to say, changing team and team killing every one of those game ruining bastards with C4 was satisfying,so I'm mellowed out now.
