Who else hates them as much as me?

Seriously, these fucking wasps are goddamn annoying!

If you don't know what I'm talking about, they're a Fallout: New Vegas enemy.

I'm trying to get to Jacobstown so Rex can get fixed. I have Violette's brain and Cook-Cook & Violet's heads.

Can anyone explain why they're supposed to be so difficult? I seem to earn 100 XP for killing just one. They pack a punch when they get in close, but I've only let that happen once. They're slow and easy to kill, so they don't seem to pose any threat to me.

Maybe it's my playstyle? I use Trigger Discipline to engage targets at long range. Cazadores aren't dangerous because they never commit to an attack at those distances.

Those bastards ruined my first playthrough, because I dared to explore the northern part of the map. They ripped my poor level 2 explorer apart. I only made it through because most of them got glitched inside a tent. Hooray for bad pathfinding!

Seriously though, it's not as bad as leaving your house at level 4 and finding that a Mother Deathclaw has, for some reason, decided to walk right up to it, forcing you to run through a valley of radscorpions in a mad attempt to outwit it.

I checked the Fallout: New Vegas wikia, and the regular Cazadores are level 18.

I assume this would solve your little bug problem:

I actually tried that, and had I not gotten shitfaced on Chems and moved to regular guns I would have died anyway.

You have to engage them at long-range. If you get close they'll mob you and chew you up.

Keep Boone around to snipe them. Or let Rex and Lilly hammer away at them, but only after level 10 or so or they'll get knocked out.

Or just wait til you're past level 15 and then you should have the health and weapons to take them on your own.

Or just blast at them with iron sights, crit a couple and the rest usually run away. Unless this is a glitch. It's hard to tell with this game.

In related news, I just went to Murder Town on Caesar's camp. Took 5 tries at level 18, but it was TOTALLY WORTH IT. Gear wasn't that good. It was just hellafun.

Odd, I thought you were talking about the Portugese skirmisher units in Napoleon: Total War... I can't be the only one, can I?

That doesn't make them difficult to handle. If they continue to use terrible tactics, like charging in groups of one [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MookChivalry], I'll keep dropping them like flies for my XP.

Also, why did I read this thread? I'm trying to play without spoilers, but I keep going into things like this and glimpsing references to plots I haven't seen yet.

I'm playing on PC and on Hardcore. I am also using a mod that lets me ignore that silly follower limit so I have Cass, That BoS chick, and Boone on my team. In my first encounter, BoS girl was perma-killed (that happens in hardcore you see) by the things because she decided she'd just punch the things.

Later, when I gave her a unique power fist and power armor that I found, she did the same thing and it worked really, really well.
