They certainly know how to grab us fans by the balls, don't they?

First God of War 1 and 2 and now SotC and Ico.

Hmmm... If they package them together like they are doing with GOW then sign me up. Bringing down a colossus in beautiful High Definition? Oh hellz yeah.

I dunno. It seems that you need GOW 1 & 2 on the PS3 since GOW is a true trilogy. You really can't just jump in to 2 without playing 1 and get the full experience. This just seems like someone trying to make a quick buck unless they plan a third.

The team is making another game but it isn't clear whether or not it will be a sequel. I just don't understand why Sony isn't following in MS's footsteps and putting these games on PSN. Paying 10 -20 bucks for them is alot easier to swallow than forking out full retail price for a disc that contains 2 games you should be able to find relatively cheap (if you get lucky in the used game bin).
It is a sequel though, or more likely a prequel, that's confirmed. It's been called "Trico" before as in "Third ICO", and the way the games are told seem to be going backwards ("Shadow of the Collosus" being a prequel to "ICO" and "The Last Gaurdian" being before SotC) and a compilation similar to God of War would make sense to get people caught up and get much more people to experience the games.

And you underestimate the rarity of finding either ICO or SotC in the used game bin. (moreover, why the hell would they be in the used game bin anyway? I will hunt those cretins down if I have to!)

Those two games are the only games for Playstation I really want to play. Wish they would come to other consoles, but I guess I just have to live with not playing them.
I still hope they do this.

Funny I thought everyone was pissed at Sony for trying to extort more money out of them for the GoW thing. I must not have my pulse on the community. But I do think an ICO/SotC rerelease would work, I just tried playing SotC the other week for a friend who had never seen it, and (I have one of the 1st gen 60Gb PS3s) it really showed it's age running upscaled.

Umm just going by the link you have provided Trico could mean something else. This is the third game by the Ico Team and they are calling it Project Trico refering to the fact that this is thier third game. Nowhere official is it being called a sequel or a prequel.

And there is lots of reasons you might find it in a bargain bin. Industrial accidents resulting in the loss of hands or fingers. Broken PS2s. Death.

Well it probably won't be full price, and the two games combined could easily make up a 10GB download, which would take days for some people to download. Also I imagine they'll want to package it nicely and try to make it something of a collector's item, like Ico and SotC originally were in PAL regions.

Find me a four-year-old console game which doesn't.
Tetris hah!!!

HD output and more detailed textures would be great as long as they could do it to a good enough quality without delaying new games.

I never got around to playing Shadow of the Colossus mainly because I was too young and I only owned a game cube.

I would love to play the game, It just looks fun.

Please sir Sony can I have some more Shadow of the Colossus?

Remember folks, a Used Game Bin doesn't always mean a Good Game Bin. While you'll find gems in there, yes, most people don't get rid of good games.

I have Shadow of the Colossus, and once had, but sold Ico (I'm sorry, a game where the entirety is an escourt mission is not that appealing). Both certainly works of art, and if they popped up on the PSN, I'd probably pick up Ico on it, if it were cheap enough (I've got a wonderful 60GB PS3, so, yay for backwards compatibility).

But, anyway, should Sony rerelease these titles? I'd say yea to it. Nice to sell a game for us games-are-art-hippy-types.

I'm not enthused with this.

While it's a good idea for Sony to re-release older games, both on disc and on PSN, I'm inclined to think they're doing this to avoid the annoying lack of BC on their console.

Focus on letting existing fans play the game on your console rather than selling it to new ones: thataways you don't indirectly shut those that already purchased the game for the last system out in the cold.
