I can't say I have them ranked in a top 10 funniest games I've played, but when I think of funny games, I think of Monkey Island and No One Lives Forever.

For me its Armed & Dangerous.
its so funny that nobody played it except few.
it had Jetpacks, Man hating Bush loving Androids and the first actual Land shark gun.
plus a grenade that turns the whole game upside down and lets the enemies drop down to the sky.

DEATH TO THE SALAD EATERS

all of the cutscenes can be found below.

Day of the Tentacle. Hands down. I've played plenty of hilarious games, but DotT just always goes that extra mile.

"Our only hope now is to turn off my Sludge-O-Matic machine and prevent the toxic mutagen from entering the river!"
"Isn't it a little too late for that, Doctor?"
"Of course! That's why I'll have to do it... Yesterday! TO THE TIME MACHINE!!"

And cut to the time machine. Which is made out of three Port-a-Potties and a Volkswagen.

Giants: Citizen Kabuto, its one of those under the radar sort of games but it is funny, pretty good gameplay too, I mean jet packs magic and monsters, how do you go wrong!

I'm just going to say it. Bulletstorm. Admittedly it loses it's charm after a while, but nothing beats the first time you play it and you revel in the ludicrousness of the entire game.

Sam and Max as well, although it can be funnier to describe than play sometimes.

"Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law" for the Wii. Hilarious dialogue and character interactions that rivals the source materials best episodes. Most recently, I also really enjoyed the humor in "The Cave" as well.

Bard's Tale and what the heck is that shooter from the original XBOX with the Irish dude, the skeleton, and the character that stank...ooooh man what is the name of that game? It was really funny...

Psychonauts was more interesting than funny for me...except that milkman bit was pretty funny.

Ah, it's really tough to say the funniest game because humor changes as you age but some of the games I got the most laughs out of are Conkers Bad Fur day, Penny Arcade:On the rainslick precipice of darkness(whole franchise), portal 1 & 2, basically any sandbox game (because of the many instances of ridiculousness such as in Red Dead when my horse decided to roll around the Mexican desert at break neck speeds just before rolling up a mountain and launching into orbit), games from double fine. I'm sure there's more but those stand out the most.

Psychonauts isn't always funny, but when it is it usually lands the humor pretty solidly. Some pretty dark humor for such a cheerful aesthetic.

There aren't nearly enough big budget games that try to be silly IMO, way too much seriousness in our AAA titles.

Honestly I think I am going to say Portal. I loved the unexpected humour in that one, everything that comes out of GLADos's speakers made me grin. To be fair I don't play many games with humour in them.

Fahrenheit.

... what? You know it's absolutely hilarious. Lucas is simultaneously portrayed as sophisticated lover of Nitzsche and Shakespeare... but also in game he turns out to be quite dense. The initial traumatic event makes him very emotionally unstable, but the game barely succeds to get the player to sympathize with him. And when the super-powers kick in... you hear Nickelback... and the badly animated acrobatic sequence start... you know you couldn't take this game seriously even if you tried. .

The game at whole is very cliched and it tries to hard with Noir-esque monologues and "epic" fights.

Still, I absolutely loved the game. I don't think I've also laughed so much at a single other game. It might have something to do with the fact that I played it with my sister and our comments made already hilarious scenes even funnier. We had to stop the game several times just to laugh for a couple minutes and calm down.

Games that are funny because I played them friends and we did stupid stuff all the time:

LittleBigPlanet
Grand Theft Auto 4

Games that were funny on their own playing by myself:

Portal 1 & 2
Borderlands 1 & 2

Oh wait! I take it back! I played Mindjack with a friend and couldn't stop laughing at how terribly absurd it was.

Thinking about it i came to a stunning conclusion.
Since i never really played (as in: i never finished them) any adventure games, moneky island, day of the tentacle, sam and max etc. are out.
I don't think Portal was that funny to be honest. I had a few good laughs, but other than that it seemed far too serious. Same goes to a lesser extent for Portal 2.In addition i hate Wheatly with a passion.
Serious Sam has funny gameplay and monsters but isn't really that funny in itself.
Why people consider Borderlands funny is completely beyond me, i can't remember anything funny about that game. Maybe i just have a shitty memory (or sense of humor).
Dwarf fortress is really funny at times and while this is most definitely part of the game design the humor always feels a bit detached from the game. I really don't know how to explain it, sorry.
So in the end i might actually have to go with DA2. The Companion dialogues were in my opinion the best thing about the game.

I'm actually pretty sure that i would be able to think of a better game, but right now nothing comes to mind.

Portal games for dark humor, Saints Row games for immature madness, Earthworm Jim for complete randomness, Katamari games for that special flavor of Japanese crazy.

Like many people on here, I'm probably going to go with Conkers Bad Fur Day as all-time funniest.

This gen, I'd have to go with Shadows of the Damned. Any game capable of squeezing that much innuendo into one campaign needs the recognition.
