I was perusing the Gaming Discussion section of these forums when I realised it had been so long since I last bookmarked a thread that an old 'The craziest/funniest bug you seen in Skyrim' thread was sitting there. I looked back through it and had a good old chuckle at the stuff people saw before looking up some funny glitch videos on YouTube.

Incidentally, and of course, a new Bethesda game has hit the shelves, along with a new Assassins Creed and a host of other games that have bugs that can be somewhat amusing...

I was playing Fallout 4 on the weekend, and the above vids and thread compelled me to share my own amusing experience.

Written to withdraw spoilers: I was exploring the North West area of the Commonwealth (I like to think this means it is part of the former British Empire) when I came across a small farmstead of abandoned buildings (and a couple of feral ghouls.) Hanging about the centre of this site, around the barn, was a Mr Handy called Mr Goodfeels. He is a comical bot, as those who have seen him will agree, and you can tinker with him slightly through a terminal for different effects.

Weirdly, after my bout of tinkering (which should have kept him in the same area) he now randomly appears next to me (spouting some trademark phrases) when I enter a new area or fast-travel. He will then start slowly heading back, presumably, to where I encountered him, as per his programming. He also occasionally engages enemies in his path, which makes him a randomised companion for me at times!

It doesn't appear to effect anything else (yet) but I am always having a chuckle at the strange places he keeps appearing in... (The lift in Vault 81 being my favourite so far... What would the vault citizens think now he managed to slip by their security!)

A completely seperate incident has led me to see 3 people sharing a double bed in Diamond City, 2 lying as normal with a third lying horizontally to them across their bodys... all were alive!

So what have you guys seen in your games, Fallout or otherwise? What has made you chuckle? Has it hindered your game, or helped, or just provided a nice distraction?

Deadshot vanished on me in the middle of a beatdown in Arkham Origins. Punched him out of the game altogether.
Doesn't make for a very funny anecdote but it felt funny (and maddening) after engaging in a rather arduous, prolonged predator encounter.

Sometimes, in Hit & Run, I tend to kick the NPCs of Springfield either into the ground or shot up into the sky... *sighs* Good times...

Other than that... uh... Sonic 06... *mic drop*

He disappeared in my game :(
I didn't like any of the other AI options for him (and one of the options causes him to bugger off and leave), so I set him back to default, but now when I visit that settlement he's nowhere to be seen.

Anyway, I've seen Piper sit down on invisible chairs in the middle of a room on occasion. Quite weird.

In that old driving game Midtown Madness, once a pedestrian suddenly became 25ft tall.

In tf2, if you spin your minigun and change classes you become the civilian heavy. Funny but kind of useless.

In the Oblivion expansion Shivering Isles, I think once Big Head was caught stealing or something because the entire town was chasing him, and then they accidentally hit each other started killing each other. Had to reload for that one. Also in Oblivion, once I talked to Baurus, and his eyes and mouth were missing. That really scared me.

In Half Life 2 Episode 2, at the ending
if you noclip off the map and kill the Combine Advisors (takes a long time), this happens.

The companion AI is seriously funny at times. I had Preston with me for a while, and he was absurd with chairs.
I was in Vault 81 and was in the classroom telling th kids a story. The teached got up half way through and intantly Preston was sat in her seat wtriting on her paperwork.
He also was obsessed with tapping away on unattended keyboards despite telling me that he had no idea about those computers, everytime I used one! :p

I had an entire room of tit-nurses just fall over dead in Silent Hill 3. Didn't shoot them or anything. Just walked in and they dropped like puppets with cut strings.

In Skyrim in I had an entire herd of mammoths walking in the sky. Like 30 feet off the ground. Just enjoying a little stroll.

Darkest Dungeon had pretty terrible ailment assignment. People tell me it's not a glitch, but I hope they're wrong. Diurnal and nocturnal on the same dude is just stupid. Same with atheist and religious zealot. It better be a glitch.

Wasteland 2 had problems with dialogue assignment. It was totally possible to get a quest from a dude, do the quest, go back, turn in the quest and then ask about the quest again and get it a second time! And I don't mean simple go kill a bandit quest. I mean go over there and turn on the radio tower quests were accepting it a second time can't be completed.

Companion AI in FO4 seems to use the same data/behavior as Serana from Dawnguard (Skyrim). That is to say, companions will wander about and use items of furniture and 'idle markers' at random, instead of standing put staring at you blankly.

This can lead to some weird effects. For instance, one quest involved me rescuing a synth who was found cowering in the corner (assigned to an 'idle marker' which is invisible during normal gameplay). After the synth left, Piper went and cowered in the same corner (using the same idle marker, because companion AI tells her to use any markers that are nearby).

It's the same as Serana from Dawnguard cowering at Molag Bal's shrine in Markarth (because it's an idle marker that the player is normally assigned to).

In Half Life 2 I was making my way along the coast to Nova Prospekt, there is a spot where you can look across the bay and see the mysterious G Man conversing with one of the resistance leaders, via a stationary telescope.

For some reason, this being a later playthrough (of which there were many- I loved trying to trap the headcrab zombies in RavenHolm using mundane items, and messing around with using the grav-gun to control auto turrets so I didn't have to expend my own bullets!), I thought to myself that I was really tired of Gordon having his strings constantly pulled- not by me, but by inscrutable forces in the game.

So I loaded up the .44 magnum, aimed carefully through the telescope, and shot a single bullet across the bay. Nothing seemed to change visually through the telescope...

But when I finally got to the base I had killed the G-Man- his bloody body was lying right where he had been standing!

And when I went to talk to the leader of the resistance there at the lighthouse, there were two identical models of him, both wouldn't talk to me, and then the game crashed.

That... was awesome.

There is always the classic "encounter a giant in Skyrim, get hit with his club, launch 1000 feet into the air" so-called glitch. It happens so often that it may just have been intentional. I've also seen mammoths appear a hundred feet off the ground and simply fall to their immediate deaths. I also once encountered a goat in the mountains who's legs were flailing about hilariously. It moved around at normal goat speed, but it's legs moved like a centipede's. I called him Scuttle Goat.

I also remember once in Oblivion, I was on one of the main quests, in front of an Oblivion gate outside one of the major cities. Might have been Cheydinhall, I don't remember. A group of guards was preparing to enter the gate, and the guard Captain was rallying the troops when one of the guards just started sliding backwards. He drifted through a hill, came out the other side, and just kept going, blankly floating backwards over the horizon. My friends and I laughed a lot.

The most recent glitch I had was when I'm entering Grillby's in Undertale with Sans. Sans does his talk as he's moving upward. And somehow, while spamming z+x to skip dialogue, Sans continues to move upward without walking and phases out of the building. The conversation following it ran normally, just without his sprite.

My second character in Skyrim got the "multiple Louis Letrush" glitch going. Every time I went to Whiterun there seemed to be another Louis clone standing there. There wound up being a small army of him milling around the Whiterun stables welcoming me to Dragonsreach. I never did screenshot it, but I'm guessing that there were 20 - 30 clones before the glitch was patched out and he disappeared from my game forever.
