I love the Antiques Roadshow. Some of the stuff that people bring in is quite bizarre. I love it when people bring something in that they think is going to be worth thousands of dollars, but in reality is worth less than they paid for it.

But, how the hell do you make a game out of the show?

I really wish this was Bargin Hunt, I can't imagine a digital representation of David Dickinson and his tan could be anything other than downright hilarious.

his voice alone would do that quite nicely, I quite like the show though. ^_^

I almost hope it's true, I can't imagine the easter eggs that would end up in a game like that. :)

mabye the ice worms are the prequel to antics road show game. In the prequel you find the cursed ice worm rod and the sequel to try to sell to old people and watch them get eaten by ice worms

That game sounds like a waste of talent. The most boring idea for a new game i have heard of, ever.

*The ice worms thing sounds awesome though

I don't care. If he makes it, I am obligated to buy it, its as simple as that. I LOVED psychonauts and you know what? Brutal legend was an above average game. Their, I said it.

I doubt either of those games are real, just a funny coincidence I bet. On the other hand, antarctic worm combat is Schafers style...

Maybe it's a crossover with Warehouse 13 and Psychonauts where the agents team up and go behind the scenes of the show to snag, bag and tag dangerous artifacts used by an evil psychic who trafficking them under the guise of the show.

Tim's other project is a sequel to Killer7, it starts production on December 21, 2012.

Yes
I hope it's not.

Who could possibly make an Antiques Roadshow game interesting?

Well can say one thing for sure, this will help broaden the appeal of videogames to other ages. Can see it being offered in nursing homes. Either case I'd rather watch paint dry.

If anyone, I would have to say Tim Schafer. It is an original concept for a game to be sure.
Now if you will excuse me, I have a date with a wall.

My thoughts:

What would be awesome: A game where you could use time travel to reverse Civilization's Tech Tree and then use it to force certain items to antique status by re-developing the world.
(Chrononaughts style)

What's more likely to happen: A Point/Click Adventure where you determine the age of things by looking for sterling marks etc.

But hey, a game based on Judge Judy would sound boring until you introduce Phoenix Wright.

BTW, anyone who references me being on it (I'm looking at you Danny) is gonna get backstabbed.

I won't say anything bad about the game yet. That will happen soon enough. But I do know the audience will be limited (The overlap of Schafer fans and those who even know/watch the Roadshow) Low Risk, but Low Reward.
