I don't watch TV often, but I was watching it with my wife last night when I saw a commercial for "The Conduit." I found it really funny because the announcer was saying things like, "The Best First Person Shooter" and extolling the virtues of the game. Funnily enough, they showed the quotes in print on the screen. It had been called the "Best First Person Shooter..." but they forgot to mention what was in print "...For the Wii." I just found it funny that they kept forgetting the "for the Wii" part in the voice over. Gotta love advertising.

If I have to believe the advertisements for crappy sitcoms and other series on tv, then most Americans do nothing but sit in front of their televisions watching those shows all day, every day.

I thought that commercial was ridiculous too! Especially when he mentions multiplayer, I forget exactly what he said but I think he described it as "truly magnificent multiplayer."

I just sat there thinking, "Really? You're describing your own game as truly magnificent?" The funny part was that the short clip of multiplayer play they showed looked so average and crappy.

Unfortunately, many of us who live in the good ol' USA don't do much after getting home other than sit in front of the TV/Computer. Have you looked at the sizes of our bellies lately? There's definitely not good healthy exercise going on here.

I agree. I saw the multiplayer thing and thought it looked like something out of SOF2. But, for the Wii, perhaps it is the top of the line FPS.

That's actually what a lot of people do when quoting reviews. They'll stitch together words, or take small bits of an insult and make it seem like a compliment. I find myself imagining what they really said that would result in those quotes. I end up with some funny results.

Who cares how they advertise it, if you are a hardcore gamer you check reviews, ask friends, watch in game footage etc. Video game commercials are made for casual gamers, and those people will buy anything.
