Also second this, if you take a closer look, all the people that were banned had a post count over 15000 (or something like this).

EDIT: 200 post!!!1!

Weird... Kuliani permabanned both Furburt AND Hubilub, both with massive post counts, mentioning both of their names in a long notice. I hope it's an April Fool's Day prank.
about 8 people have been banned, and all it takes is one read of the mod edit to see that it's all a joke.
Mods would never, ever ban someone just for the sake of a joke.

Especially not Kuliani.
Let's take a look, shall we? These are the mod edits
TheNumber1Zero
Mod Edit: You have waaaaaaay too high of a post count to be posting in a Zynga thread. Permabanned -Kuliani
Fuburt
Mod Edit: Do you think that because of your GIGANTIC post count that you can do my job for me? DO YOU?!?!?!?!!?! WRONG. Sigh..... Ok, after calming down, I've determined that it's nice to have people helping new users out. But, I never got a PM about locking the topic. NEVER. Do not lie to newer users when you promise to help them. Also, turns out Furburt means "furry policy advocate/lobbyist" in the Urban Dictionary. Eww. Permabanned. -Kuliani
Hubilub
Mod Edit: I've never liked your name. And that avatar just gave Spinwhiz a seizure. OH, AND HEY EVERYBODY, THAT LINK IS A RICKROLL. If it wasn't for the fact that Spinwhiz's seizure broke his chair, which I've always hated, I would have deleted all your posts. Permabanned. -Kuliani
Neonbob
Mod Edit: Do NOT quote yourself on our forums. It slows down the entire site! All those times when the site was down during March Mayhem? YOUR FAULT BECAUSE YOU QUOTED YOURSELF. You can take your whales and *BEEEEEEEEEP* up your *BEEEEEP*. Permabanned. -Kuliani

You forgot Xital, or however you spell that guy's name.

To be honest, I'm a tad skeptical of this being real, myself. Kuliani said [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.184913-April-Fools#5566653] they were serious, and that they were plotting something (presumably against the forums) in real life.
Two things strike me as odd, though: They all had incredibly high post counts/were very well known. Not only that, I know that Commi, as well as Neonbob love these forums to death. It's a little hard to sell me on the fact that they were plotting something against it.
[sub]If it was against these forums at all, I have no idea.[/sub]

I'm just throwing in my two cents, and I certainly won't disregard any of your sides as being incorrect, especially when I have just about no idea what's going on as well. But there is a reason to be skeptical of this whole thing, would you not agree?

Maybe Kuliani pm'ed them ahead of time and asked them to take part in what I would consider to be one of the greatest pranks in the history of this site, but then again, that's all just speculation.

I would like to hear your side, though. If you don't mind me asking? ;)

Hmm, either this is a hilarious April Fools joke, or the mods have gone mad with power. Either way, the only solution is a bloody coup >:D

Obviously an April Fools joke. One of the eight kings of The Escapist would not genuinely be banned so hastily :)
Who are the other seven? (This was probably already asked, sorry.)

April Fools, I'm guessing. The mods can be jerkasses at times, but this has hilarious overreaction written all over it.

Sorry to disagree with you there Hazy, well actually i'm not going to disagree i'm just going to give some stories in how people act on the net.

I've been admin and i've modded sites on forums and chatrooms, the bigger members are the ones who are most likely to try to back stab the admin, the ones who love the site more than life itself.

They are the ones that tend to believe they can run the site better, they feel betrayed as to why they haven't been asked modship yet even though they have an army of idiot followers.

Its with this misguided love for their social networking site of choice that they feel empowered by that they ultimately get banned because they thought themselves better then the rest, be it by belittling the mods or rallying troops to move to another rival forum.

While modding I've come accross Commi's and Bob's that love the site I guarded, but while they always came back and begged for forgiveness, they were always the sly little shits that would try to break user groups apart.

sorry I have no idea where i'm going with this, but I hope you've enjoyed the read, even though it has very bad English grammar (apalogies for that)

Banning Furburt is the same as dividing by zero, the mods would never risk it.
Risk what exactly? there is no risk involved in banning a member.
Unless he returns and brings with him all the demons of hell to exact his firey revenge aginst the mods.
You say "Unless" like your unsure of Furburts resurection Jesus style over this coming easter weekend.

If it was written in scriptures then you would state it as fact like the important factual statement that it is like so

"His Return Shall Bring Fiery Vengeance, and possibly cookies"

For some reason I believed it was real until Lambi alerted me to what day it is.

Sorry about that Furburt. Any way for me to end the topic?

You could PM a mod and ask them to lock the topic. If you like, I'll do it for you.

Also, it's always good to use the 'quote' function. When you do that, the person you quote gets a message. No worries though, you're new, it happens to us all.

Mod Edit: Do you think that because of your GIGANTIC post count that you can do my job for me? DO YOU?!?!?!?!!?! WRONG. Sigh..... User was banned for this post.(Permanent)
Is this seriously a permaban? He said "IF YOU LIKE I'll do it for you." and the guy never asked him to or got back to him, seriously, what did he even do wrong? Is this a joke, because it kind of bothers me to think a Mod could jump in all of the sudden and PERMANENTLY ban someone for a reason as flimsy and, quite frankly, stupid as this. I never saw Furburt promise anything, he said "IF YOU LIKE, I CAN do it" and never got a response.
First off take a look at your calendar. Than think about why he was banned and than look at who else was banned now look back at your calendar and make the connection if not I'll help you.
It's APRIL FOOLS

All I'll say is that if the people who were banned are plotting something, the next few days should be interesting...

Yeah if they were plotting something IRL, whats to stop them carrying it out, not being able to post certainly isn't a deterrent to real life activity.

Permabanning people seems a little harsh for an April Fool's joke. :x
The mods can undo bans at will, presumably they'll come off tomorrow.
My question is, what happens to Neonbob's and other user's clean slates. I suppose they have no need for them now but it still seems a little unfair.
I assume the mods can remove the evidence of said bans, so their slates remain clean? Or something?

Fool! Do you not know that posting sustains me?!

I nearly withered away during that day of not posting...
Virgil wanted you banned till Tuesday I hear?, I think he's trying to tell you guys something,

"stop posting so much, I'd like a weekend off not worrying about the servers!"

edit: I could have sworn your post count was under 20,000 on wednesday, what dark magic had you bolster you fucking post count while you was away.
