The revival of 3D films over the last few years got me thinking about what the future might hold for the cinema.

I have this idea where, the film becomes a lot more interactive with the user. Basically, the film will hold at a certain point and allow the viewers to select what they think should happen. This would allow the viewers to create their own outcome of the film using some sort of multiple choice device given on the way into the cinema. I know this would mean bringing in a lot of these small devices to in the cinema but I believe it would worth while.

Now its your turn. Can you think of any cool features you would like to see in the cinema in times to come?

The whole chose your own adventure thing was tried on DVDs a few years ago and it did not go over well.

I can see the whole holographic concept working but I am not sure what kind of interactivity would be practical between cost and continuity of editing. In the end it would feel like a game that was a series of cutscenes with a few player choices thrown in...so kind of Final Fantasy ;-)

only problem with that is the whole some people want to do one thing other people want to do the other...and also youd have to see the movie a bunch of times which yes would be good for profits but just wouldnt work out

I just want the future of cinema to stay as it is now. Interactivity should stay within the realm of games.

I want to see the entire industry start spending less on projects so maybe they could take a chance once in a while on something crazy.

I might be getting a little jaded.
