Shame that this trend seems likely to continue, although with new distribution outlets like the kindle , and the vast amount of web-based content, I reckon a lot of the workers will still be able to find jobs.
And while I don't buy many magazines anymore (although I used to read tons of them as a kid), I do miss the nature of the experience. An attractive layout, with plenty of pictures. No backlight (the incessant light emitting from my monitor makes long periods of reading uncomfortable), no distracting other things to do, just read. And of course, flipping the pages rather than scrolling down or clicking "next page".
I attribute this to the lack of other distractions (the temptation to use it as a paper aeroplane dyed out when I was ten), but I tend to find I concentrate more on magazine articles, and enjoy reading them more as a result.
