first game i played was pokemon blue version, i had everything i needed to finally beat the elite four. after what seemed like a year of beating that game on my game boy. then my friend started a new game while i wasn't looking. and wrote over my progress. fuck

Probably Halo 3 going for the Annual achievement (anyone dies you restart to last checkpoint, 4 player co-op). As we reach the last part of the level we enter the cutscene...only for someone to somehow die IN THE CUTSCENE and then leave the game afterwards. To get to that part usually takes about an hour. That was our 5th attempt.

Managed 10 kills zero deaths. Then I lag out....

When I log back in I never get any reward points or marks of honor and it says I've already done my Daily PVP Mission.....

In Minecraft, after exploring a cave for ages with barely any health due to several skeleton attacks, I run into a zombie spawner and get sucker punched by a zombie and die, then all of my items (including a bunch of diamonds) fall into a lava stream.

I really havent had one.

My friend had an epic one though.
He was over and playing Reach online ((a game i personally hate)).
He was trying to complete all of the dayly challanges.
His last one was "Get 150 assists"
he ended up getting sniper and swat 15 times in a row as his game modes, and when he hit 148 assists, the server resets. ((Every morning at 6 am my time))
There got like, 4 hours of grinding.

Took what I thought was a headache pill, blacked out, came to 4 hours later, went to my e-mail inbox, recieved a reply from a once dear friend I was hoping to make up with, read the e-mail I sent while blacked out, screamed in horror.

I'll never forgive myself for that, I really, really cared for her, and was really hoping to make up with her and become friends again. The e-mail I sent eradicated any chances I might have had for reconciliation.

So, I was playing for about a few hours and I'd forgot to save.

I went to save and the power goes out........

-_- What the hell, man?!

That happened to me... but during a frickin' hurricane!
So, there I was, minding my own business kickin' some ass in Borderlands, finishing more than half the games, achievements and the special, little in-game milestones when I leveled up a couple times.
I was waiting for the game to finish saving and... lightning bolts took out the power across the city, completely corrupting the save file.
I have still not re-started the game.

the Ninja Gaiden 2 final boss

last semester I had finals I decided to start studying around midnight for finals in one class. Midnight rolls around and I attempt to find the class notes online when my power goes out.

Gaming: Playing wow and having to work with 24 other people that don't know what the fuck they are doing and don't even pay fucking attention when i tell them what to do (which is usually about everything).

Non Gaming: I get such a moment everytime i look out of the window and realize in what a world i am living in. Only way not to kill myself is to go scubadiving in a lake at least 60 meters deep. Everything is irrelevant in the cold dark void down there.

Playing Persona 3 FES, trying to level grind before the next full moon...been going through the levels in two blocks for about two hours, clearing them out before going to the next level, and not saving because I want to work myself up to harder enemies (therefore I can't leave the level I'm on to save, or I start at the bottom of the block again because of where the transporters are located.)
About halfway through clearing out a level, Mitsuru mentions that she feels something "bad"...then she says that Death is coming, just after I clear out the last monster. So I book it to the other side of the level, where the stairs are - no Death in sight.
I'm literally ONE HALLWAY away from the stairs to the next level. Who comes around the corner?
Death.
Unavoidable fight. TWO HOURS of level grinding gone, as well as TWO new Personas and a bunch of new weapons.

Seriously though, re-level grinding in that game after something like that is the most painful experience ever..

Resident Evil 0. About an hour or two of gameplay without saving (because, y'know, Ink RIbbons (who's ****in' idea was that anyways?)) and about to save when "An error has occured, please switch off the power and refer to instruction booklet"

Oy, this is gonna be a fun playthrough of the entire resi series...
