And what was so bad about the first one. It was easily watchable and a fun fest. What more do you expect from an action movie? If you want a story go watch Pride and Prejudice!
The fact that the story and dialogue were atrocious was my major problem with it. Oh, and the fact that it had Marlon Wayans in it.
Come on, like the original tv series(animation) are of high quality writing. I own 2 mini-series ("Real american hero" and "The revenge of Cobra"). Just like the animation the movie is over the top action with bad storywriting and dialogue. I agree with the Marlon Wayans part but most complains i heard about the live action movie can be said of the anmation. Memory usually makes things look better then they used to be.

I didn't know there was any GI Joe film to start off with... maybe it wasn't released in the UK. Any way, if this is, I'll probably watch it since it was mentioned in MovieBob's Big Picture.

They should maybe just do a reboot like they did with The Hulk & Spiderman...

...and make it Not Suck.

So far, this sequel sounds even more delightfully terrible than its predecessor. That said, it'd be kinda weird if Cobra Commander and Destro aren't included as characters in the movie, but I'm not exactly heartbroken that Marlon Wayans won't be returning as Ripcord. Actually, that's a huge understatement: I totally did a happy dance when I heard that news.

Is it wrong that I'm kind of hoping Sgt. Slaughter will make an appearance?

No you are never wrong to want more Sgt. Slaughter and I too shall do a happy dance knowing Marlon Wayans won't be making a stupid face in another G.I. Joe movie.

Quoted for truth. Although I quibbled about some of the story choices the live-action film made, ultimately the final product is no more ridiculous than an average episode of the 80s cartoon, and only slightly more ridiculous than an average issue of the Marvel comics. (I still find the old GI Joe series entertaining, unlike the old Transformers and Thundercats cartoons, because the Joe writers knew they were writing ridiculous, over-the-top silliness and just had fun with it.)

And the Rise of Cobra movie had the most epic fight between two 10-year-olds ever. Seriously, Young Snake-Eyes and Young Storm Shadow had such great choreography and their fight was so brutal, it alone was worth the price of admission.

You know the only thing expected out the movie is for it to be a money making piece of crap when they hand it off to a nothing director.

Marlan Wayans was waaaaaay better than Channing Tantum.
