G-Police: What the hell happened??

So yeah, if any of you remember this game, you'll remember flying around, bombing the crap out of civilians with your trusty 1000lb bombs or melting them with lasers.

I've spent a fair bit of time looking around the web and not found any mod projects or anything related to it. I know Psygnosis disbanded but I certainly think that G-Police would be ripe for an eager young mod team to try and port it into UE3/Source/ANYTHING.

Share thoughts! I can't be the only guy who loved the game or who wants it modernised.

I played this game on the PC, ages ago, I had to look up a few youtube videos, but it's definately it, about the only thing I remember about it is the dome worlds, and the afterburner, but thats it. Aww, that game was awesome. Nostalgia trip...

Hell yes. Plugged in my old PS1 the other day and spent about 4 hours blowing things up.

It was pretty unforgiving, but it was a game that made you think rather than just shoot.

Well, you got off easy... I had nightmares about the Psygnosis logo when I was a kid.

Psygnosis passing away was truly a great loss. Wipeout, G-Police, Sentient, Lemmings, Destruction Derby, Rollcage, Assault Rigs... so many good memories...

Dear god, I forgot about Rollcage and Destruction Derby. Someone needs to get them all back together. Rather than producing crappy Formula 1 Games (Psygnosis studio renamed to Studio Liverpool...)

i can remember the good old days of this game, with the aid of your wingman. i agree that it should be remade for the youth of today and for the likes of us, with nowaday graphics it would make G-Police reign supreme as it was initially the best flight sim/shooter ever in my oppinion.

There is no stopping you from learning how to use Unreal engine or source there are plenty of tutorials on the internet. It just requires a bit of time, I would love to learn Unreal and work on a game like this.

I had the game for ps1 and spent hours blasting buildings, I would love to see a modern version that isn't just a remake but sticks to the original fairly well in terms of how it played. Maybe a sequel set like 50 years after would do but I never finished the game so I don't know how it would be made.

Loved G-Police for PS1! I think I still have it somewhere.
I remember getting it for my high end laptop and it completely failing to run :/
