I haven't watched much TV as of late, but when my PC was down, and my Wii was acting odd, I had to chose between TV or going outside. I looked at G4, and found that all decent shows were gone or stripped down to the bare bones MTV version. Half of the stuff on it isn't even about games anymore. Then I saw Sessler's rant about L4D2, calling absolutely everyone in the protest group self entitled whiners. Who else thinks G4 is worthless?

I think this thread is worthless and that Sessler is right.

Instead of whining about L4D2 actualy do proper criticism and remenber VALVe to not forget to include in L4D2 a compatibility thing for the custom user made campaigns.

I wish I had a channel about games where I live. You guys take everything for granted.

I have to admit that X-play isn't as funny as it used to be, but other than that and some show cancellations g4 is pretty much the same.

Actually, it's not so much about video games nowadays as it is about the entertainment industry and tech world in general.

I don't think their new direction is all bad. Yeah, I miss a lot of the old G4 shows like Judgment Day and what is now called Game Makers, but there's still some enjoyment to be had from the channel. Their original programming is hit-and-miss (Ninja Warrior and Human Wrecking Balls? Cool. Code Monkeys and The International Sexy Ladies Show? No thanks), but they're pretty accurate when they air "Movies that don't suck." And at least X-Play and Attack of the Show! are still as interesting to watch as they were a few years ago.

Good thing I say, everything I've seen from them on the web was always pretty terrible. We used to have a show that was on in the 90's here in the UK called Games Master, from what I remember that was pretty good. I dunno if there's any games shows here on Sky or cable.

I used to watch Attack of the Show, but now I just watch X-Play as they usually have good reviews and plenty of great previews and hands-on and the like for games.

I don't have G4 anymore, as my cable company took it out of the basic package and I'm not paying more money for one extra channel. But before it got taken away I usually found myself just watching Ninja Warrior, The Unbeatable Banzuke, a few of the movies every now and then, and sometimes Attack of the Show. I got tired of X-play a very long time before they went to the hour-long format.

I short, I can take it or leave it, and my cable company has decided that I'll be leaving it.

I like to think thats because your Europeans like to lay down the ban hammer on games almost as much as the Ockers (ethnic slur for an Australian) do.

Only France, UK and Germany makes big noise about it. The rest doesn't really care. I think the Portuguese goverment doesn't even know what the hell are video games about.

Apart from Second Life.

I stopped caring about G4 after they Dianne Mizota got the boot. She was one of my favorite people on G4 and they replaced her with some generic blond. The fact that Olivia Munn said on live television that all men should have their genitals surgically mutilated (circumcised) was the nail in the coffin for me.

Everyone has the rights to their own opinion but I have the right to not care so I stopped watching completely years ago and from what I hear I have missed nothing.

The only show that i like on G4 is Code Monkeys and I can go buy the DVD and enjoy it commercial free.

It really has gone downhill. Now the only things worth watching on it are Unbeatable Banzuke (cuz the Japanese are crazy awesome) and Superjail (which is not tech related). I don't even know when X-Play is on anymore and strangely I don't care. I used to like it.

Ninja Warrior is the only gem on that channel anymore. It's been going down hill since they changed management in 2006.

Not really anymore. Honestly, every time I turn on G4, I see either Cops or that show about Japanese people throwing themselves around an obstacle course =/

Once in a while I do see Attack Of The Show, and I'm thankful for that =p

Yeah all these people complain about G4. I don't watch TV that much and they have made some changes but this thread is pointless. Yes we know that everyone at the Escapist has a burning hate for G4 since they've started to go a tad more mainstream. Just shut up. "OH! ADAM SEZZPOLEZ SUCKZORSZ!!!!!!!!!" I like Xplay, AOTS, Ninja Warrior, Movies that don't suck and The International Sexy Ladies show . I don't see a problem with them trying to get more ratings by appealing to people other then hardcore geeks.

Pretty much this and do we really need more G4 threads? Yes we all get it TechTV was better back in the day and I agree but do we need to make a thread in order to beat a dead horse repeatedly?
