To be honest, I do make enough money and I can afford to buy both games in theory. But there are other expenses that I have to cover. And I am expecting Dec-Feb to be quite the cash burner.

Exactly why I said that. I can't afford all the games coming out this November, then there are my own expenses I got to take care of separate from gaming.
I said you don't have to get both on release though. So I wasn't assuming anything, I was just asking.
I'm not enthralled with the enemy design I've seen so far, to be honest. Especially the one shown in the thumbnail here- to me, it screams less "horrifically mutated former human" and more "help, I fell in the automatic pizza maker".
It's pretty clear the devs and design team are trying their hardest to not have the monsters look like Necromorphs. I commend them for it. I actually don't mind the design, and I am sure the best ones are being saved for when the gaming audience actually play the game.
