This is one of those games that I keep meaning to revisit. I played it a long time ago and I don't really feel like I grasped what it was going for.

More so at the end of this video. I have it time stamped. The "I would have been highly disappointed if Platinum/TN screwed this up". I get 3 is sore spot for a lot of people, but you don't wait over a decade for a new sequel, just to screw it up again. Both developers know what they''re doing. The dude just wants to say something "relevant".

Speaking of Ninja Gaiden, the fan base has been fighting itself for 20 years. That's way more than the DMC fandom. Granted by the time 5 came out, most of just said, pick what you want to play and have fun with it.

What's funny is that they did a second hand opinion and gave the game a 6/10. Then that apology video a decade later. The asshole who did the original review got fired in 2009. It wasn't even for God Hand, something unrelated. I can't even remember why he got fired.

Relax, it's not a rage bait nor is the person acting like a smug prick. It's only 13 minutes long too.

I remember when SMS was making the first GoW they had the joke, “Developers May Cry” because DMC just came out and they wondered how anyone could compare to it. So in a way GoW was kinda inspired by it, but it was definitely still doing its own thing. It’s like a similar case here, and then of course Miyazaki is also a total Berserk fanboy which shows in nearly everything FROM has done.

It's not to make game companies support games they otherwise want to shutdown. It's to leave them in a playable state after they stop supporting them.
