So as I was playing Saints Row the Third I found myself reflecting on the few times games have made me care about their characters before now because one of the only times this has happened is with the AWESOME character of Johnny Gat from Saints Row 2 (and a little bit with Master Chief but that's just cause he's my main man) and I was wondering if anyone else had characters from games they really cared about (not like or think are bad ass but are invested in their stories and struggles)

While I'll probably get royally flamed for this, F it.
I like Gabriel Belmont from the new Castlevania because, like him I lost someone very dear to me, didn't manage to to get her back despite my efforts and have a incresingly poor opinion of the world as a result of that and various other factors, I will grant that I didn't get used anywhere near as badly as he did. Given what he went through, he's not asking for very much to have his wife back.
I also like John Marston from Red Dead Redemption.
In fact I seem to relate to most characters who, for one reason or another are trying to get thier loved one/s back.
