Resistance 2 or Far Cry 2

i Plan on getting both eventually but which should i get right now

i've played some resistance after borrowing it form a friend and really loved
but i've never laid hands on far cry 2 although i am very familer with the features of it e.g. the map editor and i've played far cry 1

so which one should i get first ?

(please don't say "well it's your choice" cause other wise i won't be asking

Playing Far Cry 1 won't help you with the second. They have nothing to do with each other.

I say go for Resistance if you jut want a shooter and nothing more. Far Cry 2 is spread too thin, with it's "open world" and so called "choice" and "mission structure."

Just get Resistance 2 first unless you want to delay gratification, and go through the shit paved road to the pot of gold to make it that much more rewarding - instead of just following the rainbow.

Neither, they are both surpassed by other titles. Really, don't waste your time on either, you'll be disappointed by both.

so R2 is better ?

Well, when it comes to "solidity" and production value - yeah, R2 is better. Far Cry 2 is still fine but you are better off renting it. Resistance also has more addicting multiplayer.
