VALVe created L4D2 just as a way to piss off the long-standing VALVe supporters.
And L4D1 was released without the two VS levels and the SDK, both taking six months or so to release so the pissed off level (when six months later they release the second one) is so fucking high that the steam forums self destruct.
Because in all reality valve wants to kill off their own trolling forums.

I heard it from a reliable source that half-life 2 episode 3 is coming out december 2010, but Valve are keeping it under their hats because they don't want to take away from the potential sales of left 4 dead 2 (Which by the way is a great game!) by making every major Valve fan nerdgasm in the form of spurts of hot, sticky rants on the internet potentially forcing these fans into a gaming coma until hl2: ep 3, stopping them from going out and buying left 4 dead 2, which should be punishable by crowbar to the face in my opinion.

The elevators in Dead Center will never, ever stop sending zombies, telling you when you've changed an area or playing that damn annoying elevator tone randomly.
