okay me and my brothers were taken to gamestop to get an early christmas presents, I got modern warfare 2, which I enjoyed, my little brother got twilight princess for wii since he loved the gamecube version, and my older twin collin got this game called legendary, which turned out to be a piece of shit, he got it cause he thought the cover was "cool" I tried to get him to select somthing tha was worth his time like dragon age origins cause he liked fable, enough said were there any times where you or a loved one ever got a shitty game cause they said the cover was cool

Nope, but I am tempted to buy them because they worked that hard on the cover.

I don't care what the cover really looks like. The game covers today consist of the protagonist looking forward at you with some sort of scenery behind him.

Game covers have pretty colors! I bought Borderlands ONLY because it was sparkling.

When I opened the package with borderlands in it and saw the shiny package I knew it would be a quality game. When has a shiny case NOT signified greatness?

I never have gotten a game because of this but then again I haven't got a game on impulse since I had a Play Station. All of my purchases since the PS2 have been well thought out and based off of previews, reviews, and demo's of the game. My sister on the other hand has gotten games based off of the name of the game, ex. Britney's Dance Beat, which I have to say i kind of enjoyed that game.

This.
Though some covers do look nice and dramatic. But then I realize that they're very likely terrible games and I move on.

Yeah, to be honest, I don't think I've every bought a bad game because I liked the cover. Don't get me wrong; I've bought bad games, and some of these bad games had very nice covers, but I didn't buy the game because I liked the cover. I think that is foolish. Give Collin a nice slap for me, will ya?

I haven't bought a game based on the cover since the days I spent with Nintendo's purple lunchbox. Now I read reviews, watch previews, etc.
