I realize that many people played Spore, and enjoyed the fact that you can customize whatever you wished, to a limited point, and to completely individualize your own self through the game. What if a game like this, say could be through an MMORPG or just a single player game, where you could do exactly what Spore did, with better more professional graphics, say Metal Gear Solid 4 Graphics. What are peoples thoughts on this matter?

I think it's a great concept that utilises the technology that makes video games unique, but, of course, nothing is ever going to be completely player customisable. Very vast and very open, of course, but it's all going to depend on what a game designer has made available, and programmed into the system, and all that space devoted to potential character models may leave a game feeling like it's lacking in content, but I think it's great to experiment with these sorts of engines and find ways of making the most out of them.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Ive always wondered why you couldnt customize your char more in an rpg, especialy one with a silent main char, I mean they dont even talk, why cant you change how they look

I think the more powerful the graphics the easier it is to pull out flaws. So I say keep 'em simple

Spore was such a let down. Of course, how could it have been good if the whole concept behind the game is evolution and they misrepresent it.
EA, rushjob, etc.

I had a friend who made a star trek neighborhood in the Sims (3?). It can be fun, but not always.

I love customization options, but in reality, I never make anything good. When given all the options in the world, it's hard to pick any ten to customize your character in a creative way.

if the player learns to script and mod they can truly have their own experience

I think theres no excuse for not having customization anymore.

People are sick of playing as a single character created by the devs, who looks one way the entire game, and uses the same weapons.

its old.

2012, most people can't script/mod. Whenever I try, I accidentally create something that is smooshed on the sidewalk that resembles the taco bell dog. I would love to mod though, lots of weapon ideas. If you know a Modding/Scripting book for complete idiots, let me know so I can get beyond the taco bell dog and make fun of Jack in the Box.

Fuck customization. I'd rather have developers spend time on the important parts, like the actual damn game itself.
