I've been thinking on this question for awhile, can't really come to a conclusion, so your opinions might be helpful.
Given every multiplayer or competitive game are equal. Should advantages be awarded to the defending team? And why?
Soccer - There's 11 a side and a huge net with a small ball. Yet when the opposing team attacks, they only have 10 men (goalkeepers dont attack). Does the Goalkeeper cancel out the effect of the big net or neutralise it only since it looks like 11 vs 10
American Football - During offense the Quarterback usually doesn't block or run forward resulting in one man less pushing forward or rather the defence having an extra man.
Risk - Defenders have an extra point/dice?
Counterstrike - If the bomb sequence is initiated the terrorists only have to guard the chokepoints while the CT have no idea where they are hiding. Conversely, before the bomb sequence it's the opposite.
