Y'know sometimes stretching out a joke can actually make it funnier.

This wasn't one of those times.
There's a trope for that [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/OverlyLongGag].

And... err... yeah. Brain bleach please.

A chore to watch. I feel like I have every debilitating disease and condition on that list. At once. Yes, that includes death.

This show is something completely different from what it started out as. This is something that I was hinting towards wanting but it took that idea and ran across America with it. It's not original anymore except for the creepy and lame dog puns. This show is dropping pop culture references for a cheap laugh in much the same way as Family Guy did before people started to take notice.

Not being a transvestite/sexual/gender person nor being affiliated with any, I could see this being extremely offensive to any of said people. Putting a transvestite character in the same shoes as a psychotic, deranged, and anti-social serial killer like Buffalo Bill's shoes is the same, to me at least, as putting a modern stereotypical German in a Nazi uniform and immitating stock footage of him acting out atrocities in Auschwitz because that's the only thing you think of when associating that character with his cultural background.

I may be over thinking things a little bit, and I have no right to call judgment on something I am not affiliated to in any regard, but in a world where someone cries fowl and starts to sue at a person referring to breasts as... Breasts... I don't think it was tasteful at all. When Family Guy did it, and when Clerks did it, they were out of context and completely random.

This, this was funny. Not the greatest, but not the worst of the episodes either. This is just as furry as the loony tunes that virtually everyone watched as a kid so i don't see why people are getting up in a tiff about it.

"Just as furry as loony tunes"? Which loony tunes episode were you watching as a kid where they sniffed each others butts for an uncomfortable amount of time and had one of the characters watching what essentially equates to porn? Before this episode I would have agreed with you since it was fairly tame to begin with...and before this episode, it wasn't the least bit furry...but once you throw sex into the mix, random anthropomorphism turns furry, IMO.

Hahaha...I'm not taking it seriously...you seem to be though. I'm just stating facts. I'd love to see the office that you work in where a transvestite taking of his/her clothes and askinig "Do you wanna hump me?" isn't soft porn. Again, I'm NOT saying I hate it. I never did. I'm just calling it as I see it. I'm not talking about the whole series. Just one part in this one episode. I mean seriously, I would think even the creator of the video would say it was imitating soft porn. That was the JOKE.
I can understand that you may not have gotten around to watching Silence of the Lambs. I can understand not immediately getting the reference when you watched it. But did you... Miss the dozens of people in the comments talking about how much they liked the Buffalo Bill thing at the end? Or the video someone posted of when Clerks II did it? Because I'm not sure how you could understand the reference, and still compare it to "softcore porn", when it's... Y'know, not. At no point was it ever. It was imitating a horror movie. And not one of those teen horror movies with pointless nudity and sex jokes.

Moreso than Buffalo Bill himself? Really? Seems like a really strange thing to be offended by. I mean, sure, you could probably find someone, but that's true of anything - I doubt most cross-gender people would get offended by a SotL reference. When you think of Buffalo Bill, you think "it puts the lotion on its skin", not "crazy fictional character who kills people as a direct result of being a transvestite and therefore all transgender people are ticking time bombs by relation". I wouldn't worry about it.

Well one of the girls in the James Bond movie For Your Eyes Only was a tranny, or at least once a man so, who's to say there aren't some Booth Babes who are the same?

Also shame on those who don't know that that reference is actually of Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs.
Huh. Interesting about the bond girl thing.

As for buffalo bill, I know that reference, much as I wish I didn't. -_-

I do find it awkward watching these kind of things without taking it personally.
Especially considering how easy it is to get things confused.

A transvestite is NOT the same thing as a transsexual; They're motivated by quite different issues, and it's unhelpful to everyone involved to confuse the two.

A transvestite is a man who likes dressing in women's clothing. A cross-dresser, essentially, though even that has slightly different implications.

A transsexual is a person (could be a man OR woman, originally), who believes they are/should be a member of the opposite gender. In most cases, the goal or desire of a transsexual is to be as close as it is possible to their chosen gender. (Ie. Under ideal circumstances, they would be indistinguishable from someone born that way.)

In any event, judging from this, I'd lean towards the character here being a transvestite.
But you can never really be sure in reality, and with a character like this, I doubt anyone even thought about it beyond the usual joke...
Funny, there's a transvestite(I'm pretty sure a transexual is one who is BORN inbetween itself)tribe in one of the states in my country(India).Scary part is that they have the tendency to lob off their privates at some point.I'm not sure the tribe members themselves WANT to be what they are.It really is sad what 'culture' sometimes forces you to do.

OT:This was an almost great episode but it was totally ruined by that...moment.I mean, one sniff would have been enough.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was horribly uncomfortable with this episode.

Wow guys...I mean, wow.

I don't know if you are getting either risky or lazy with the jokes, because even I had a lot of mixed feelings about this episode. It had really good punch lines, but the sniffing joke should be 10 seconds shorter. Bob's expression at the end of the video was a mirror image of my own XD That was funny.

huh, so looks like prediction of last week wasnt too far off (that is i said the show goes up and down, with one week being good, one bad, with this week due a bad one, personal opinion only of course), thats not to say it was an awful episode but not the best, certainly in my mind one of the lower ones, maybe its because im not getting all the references others are, or the sniffing joke went on far too long... also chet was playing the part of captain exposition it seems "hey we are at e3 in our booth for our game, everyone got that? ok see you later"

and the game itself may cause "excessive swearing or masturbation".... what would it do if that was a pre-existing condition?... erm I've said too much

(just to calirify the above was made in jest for chuckles, please dont tear me a new one over it)

also poor bob, I feel your pain, thats exactly how I felt after seeing that

Just when GameDogs was starting to get interesting for me, to the point where I wanted to watch it, y'all had to shove in an "OMG GAY!" joke.

Not only is it painfully outdated, the whole Crying Game joke isn't even all that funny. And even if it was, the 60 seconds of ass-sniffing by Mr. Yee made no sense and wasn't funny either. If you'd just kept it to a quick wide-eye moment, it would have had plenty of punch and gotten the point across.

The warning was the only funny part, and it scrolled by too quickly to really "stick" for most users. You should have had less of it and scrolled it slowly enough to where an attentive person could have gotten the gist without pausing.

It's just that y'all are starting to do the sort of dumb shit that was on Titan Maximum and various bad Family Guy episodes. You were almost getting up to the point where Game Dogs was as funny or funnier than some of the Adult Swim cartoons. Now you're backsliding.

And it's not like there aren't good gay jokes on The Escapist. Some of the early episodes of Apocalypse Lane had really GREAT gay jokes, relying on leaving things unsaid to really make things hilarious.

You know what you SHOULD have done? Introduced a rival game character who was a total douche-dick, and who motivated the Game Dogs to outdo him. Giving them a "villain" they can actually fight against (as opposed to the boss) would be an excellent way of pushing forward a lot of the character development. It would serve as a motivator, and give them an overarching goal, as well as a reason to give a shit about whether or not Satan's Retrievers ended up being a decent game. As it is now, they don't give a shit, and neither do we.
