Game Error 201

I got a free trial for Lord of the Rings Online last week and then my mate bought it and had trouble logging in. To our amazement we discovered we had been playing on the American servers with American accounts. As we are British, this was a problem. So we each make a new account and I borrow his copy of the game to install.
The installation went fine and when I tried to log in I got the this 201 error. I uninstalled it and tried again but halfway through some unnamed error has occurred while trying to copy a file.
Can anyone help me out?

Sorry, couldn't resist. I have no idea what to do... Perhaps the game has been tied to your old accounts in some way? That would stink :X

I can't really see how it could be linked as I deleted the American client and installed with an EU bought copy of the game.
No one on Codemasters are being particularly helpful either.

I tried that thread but it's closed. I don't suppose you know how to find my game directory and the apparent excursion file within?
