Did a quick search of the forums and couldn't find any news on this so I hope I haven't double posted!

I suppose this is just for the alert of UK escapists. I just got a newsletter from the GAME store telling me we get a chance to do something useful whilst we sit on our backsides playing MW2!

On Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December Xbox Live Gold is gonna be free for the entire weekend and the more UK residents who log on to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 online, the more money Activision will donate to the War Child Charity and that sum is gonna go up to a maximum of a quarter of a million pounds!

How many of you will be logging on to take part? : ) x

I likely would have unwittingly taken part.

That will count as my good deed for the year, easy win.

do you guys live in the future? He said it was happening on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December but your talking in the past tense.

This is not good.... this is trying to get more people hooked on MW 2 multi-player.... ulterior motives FTW :)

Sigh fine. let me rephrase it.

"I would like to take part in this future event, but I'm afraid I won't be able to. As I do not own an Xbox 360. Is that better"?

Do not talk to the enlightened future beings in such a way!
Yeah or we might tell you how everything ends up for you Omega. Sad story, told to children in my time as a warning. :)

EDIT: My inner nerd is demanding I give a serious answer. My sentence, "I would have unwittingly taken part" is correct. Now that I know, it will not be unwittingly. See?

Also, when dealing with future possibilities, 'would' is an acceptable replacement for 'will'. "I would visit Grandma next weekend but there is that party I said I would go to."

The devil's greatest trick is telling the world he doesn't exist.

Not even gaming for charity will get me to play that game. I have principles you know... Plus I'm xboxless.

this is a nice relief from all the Modern Warfare 2 hate. I'm happy to hear that someone somewhere is doing something good with videogames. I wish i lived in he UK, then i would take part too.

Quarter of a million. Cheap fucks. 250,000 would have logged on by accident.
Well true but how many times to charities say stuff like "Every pound helps to do this and that etc..." £250,000 will do a lot of use to the cause I guess.

I don't own MW2, or an Xbox, or a conscience. None of this applies to me.
Well I have an Xbox. Have no use for the rest though (just because I didn't like COD4 or the WaW demo).
